so tempted to get the k-01... Judging from what we've all seen lately, i'm guessing its just a one off-
its a pity because it could've become something very good.

Whenever I use live view with my DBG4 on my k5, it instantly says I have battery depleted. When I take off the battery grip its fine though..

I have AA batteries in the grip, both batteries in body and in the grip are full as well.

Any ideas?

Pentax EVIL NC-1 has smaller sensor than APS-C - your opinion?

I really don't understand which market they are aiming for with this $800 price point.

Are they aiming for lomo holga street shooting hipsters? not at this price point.

Where does all the cost come into what they've put into this camera? A 1/2.33 sensor shouldn't add that much to this cost.

okay i'm going to just say that even with a 1/1.7, you won't get much depth of field.

I just hope they have fantastic sensor in that 1/2.33, but i know its just hopeful...

Hoping they got rid of the antialiasing filter

people who use compacts don't want to have to worry about changeable lenses. They just point and shoot.

Who wants to change lens when you're obviously carrying something pocketable? I guess it is better to give a person more versatility.
I am STILL very concerned about the sensor size. Even with today's sensors at 1/1.7, performance for that size is pretty much peaked. Imagining a 1/2.33 sensor at 12 mp is noise heaven. I wish they'd put bigger photodiodes instead.

the thing looks relatively small though which is fantastic. hopefully it will make a good travel cam...

to upgrade or not to upgrade? :)

If they announce k3, i'll jump on that straight away

How much did you quote from buymart? I'm sure they'd do a dwi and underquote to avoid tax at that price

AF540 and K7- pttl

Okay so I did PTTL with the 2 second timer, and indeed I was crazy my PTTL works.

Perhaps its just the results I get from what I see, I have whitebalance set at flash or even auto, and it seems that the skin tones are so over whitened and un-natural.

Should I be using a custom white balance for flash for correct skin tones?

Exposure is too bright- either direct or bounce, the subject is over-exposed.
the subject is half a metre away- example F4, 1/180, ISO AUTO

I'll try the 2 sec timer mode to see if theres a pre flash. I should be able to see it 1/50 should be slow enough to see it.

unfortunately my friends have all gone to canikon, I am the only pentax user I know now.

PTTL is lit up on the unit, but I don't see any preflash at all- i'm hoping the thing isn't busted.

What is the point with such a small sensor?
Compacts now a days are around the same though some of them have even bigger sensors- Panasonic LX5 with leica f2.0 lens.
I will probably pick up an X100 :)

lightroom to import to two locations?

When I import from SD, I import to a folder and creates subfolder by date.
Is there a way to import to more than one location?
The reason for this is that I import to my raid drive, and then I want to have a backup to external.

I saw in lightroom in import there is file handling, and import to second directory but it will not create another subfolder by date as specified by the normal import settings.

Are there any better solutions rather than using explorer to copy the folders to my external manually?
