Here's one made with the D70s 620Nm Sigma 12-24mm. The D70 can hold its own against the d7100 but the D7100 is just a more "modern" camara of wich the live view helps framing a lot when using higher Nm filters on top of the converted sensor.

May I confess that I speak only English with any fluency, and would appreciate a translation of 'POJ', please ? I am sure it cannot mean 'Perpetually Obstructive Jaguars'.

One of these has become the most used lens on my little K-S1. It's a perfect "normal" lens on APS-C, small and lightweight, performs well. I used to think the F series were the ugliest lenses I ever saw, but it somehow fits with the K-S1's offbeat style. I also got a Pentax-branded collapsible rubber hood, and a cross-body cord to carry the camera at my side, and it's an ideal companion for photo walks. |

OK, what I've learned so far:
1 Don't trust the viewfinder of your dslr for evaluating sharpness, use live view for (auto) focussing.
2 Don't use small apertures! when shooting IR diffraction comes in some 2 stops earlier than in visible light, i was amazed how much the diffraction caused unscharpness. With my 17-55 nikkor trouble began once past f 4 !
3 Dark table is better for IR colour management than PS ( with the limited skills i have)
Moving further now with my freshly converted D7100, I've mounted the B&W 093 black filter in front of the lens, then of course the viewfinder turns black, but the live view works just fine.
Here's a result, the different types of wire mesh from the river waste filtering station are very handy to evaluate sharpness. (No colour once past 800Nm !)

Interesting? With a 1/2.3 type sensor, IMX177, which GoPro used in its Honor4 ten years ago? With a dumb mount (no contacts)? With three lenses that may or may not have fixed focus (in the images provided, there is no visible separation between the 'focus ring' and its surroundings)?
It's an overpriced toy camera, nothing more.
God forbid the Pentax brand should fall into such hands!

Thanks for your support and comment, I've been a bit over enthousiastic and sloppy with the D7100 and didn't check each and every file,so a few of them were just badly focussed. The 17-55 2.8 nikkor zoom is tack sharp even at 2.8 I've used a wide aperture in some of the shots to reduce the dept of field ( B&W shot of the tree sculptures).
I'm using PS CS because i've become accustomed to it and being not keen on installing yet another program on the PC, strarting all over with a new learning curve. However, I will look into what Sven has got to say on IR processing.
The D7100 is a large step forward in comparison to the D70s wich I've been using so far. One of the big advantages is i now can use my B&W 093 (black) filter and see what i am doing in live view with the filter on the camera (something i'm going to try out today) Here's some more examples from yesterday's try out:

Oh my, those are nice! What a sweet little lens.
I had dropped it from my "wish list" because I have a DA 20-40mm Limited, but now I have second thoughts.

I have always been curious about that lens, it's suppose to have a lot of character.

For extreme close-ups, try it reversed, see e.g. the bees in Single in February 2022 - F 28mm | Flickr !
It is one of my highest resolving lenses, at f/4 on par with my Compon-S enlarger lens at 4x for focus stacks.

I love this lens. I found it unexpectedly in an out-of-the-way camera shop last year, and it has been a revelation. As a special tip: try it for extreme close-ups wide open. The bokeh is delightful.

Because i've spend a bit to much money on auctions this month :o , i'll have to make do with my D70s for my IR shooting, the 7100 conversion will have to wait ;) Hre's a shot, strange effect with the piano maintaining its "natural" wood colour, while the tulips become allmost ghost like.

In these shots the 550Nm really comes to its own, the flaming red foliage makes me think of the aerochrome IR film effect , for the price of a few rolls of this elusive film, you can have your dslr converted to IR:lol:

That's odd. Several companies offer conversion and do the Pentax brand as well as current mirrorless systems with IBIS.

Reply to newmikey's interesting post, i didn't know about IRrecams, this seems like a trustworhy (western Europe) buisness. I had a look on their website and now I'm tempted to have my D7100 converted, to replace my tired 620Nm D70s (wich has served me well). This will keep me busy untill i find a (nikon) full frame solution. I'll keep watching this thread to see how everything turns out with the K3.

Pretty signs of an early Spring. Nicely captured. We have hope here that no more cold weather is on its way.
