my search for a not too expensive telezoom on my K20d, which is producing sharp images at the long end has led me to the above shortlist.
I want to use the zoom for wildlife as well as details in landscapes/buildings.
So far I cannot decide between the two: most reviews are good, both have incidental lower reviews. price is the same:confused:
Pentax for: extra short end, less weight ( 640-410), fixed lens while zooming allows use of polarizer filter
SIGMA for: higher review on this forum lens reviews. Seems to be a little sharper, OS at 300mm
I would very much welcome your advise especially if you have used both lenses.

I would welcome your advice:
I want to buy the best prime under 600 $.
I am offered a 2nd hand P-FA 35mm f2.0. This lens is highly appreciated in the reviews.
However Pentax has 2 new 35 mm lenses the DA 35mm 2.4 ( 150$ cheaper) or the DA 35mm 2.8 ltd MACRO.
should I go for the faster occasion or for a new ( latest technology)_prime?
Which on should I buy for general usage indoors and outdoors? IQ and sharpness are most important.

I would like to buy a wireless shutter/flash release for my k20d. However I fail to understand the difference between two items of Yongnuo : the RF-602 and the YN-129.:(
Is there anyone who can advise me?

I indeed realise that my lenses ( also a Tamron 28-105 and a pentax 18-55) are not reallly the fastest kids on the block. However, I hope that abundance of sunlight will solve that problem.
We will be travelling with our own car and driver/guide, so I do not have to fight with fellow travelers for the best spot in the car.
I trust that the animals will give me at least a day to find the best settings on the camera......

Hi there,
I just bought a K20d and am going on safari to Kenia next week, so I am doing a crash course in mastering the camera.
Now I would welcome advice on which setting to take as default:
should I fix the shutter speed ( 1/400) in order to master moving animals, or should I fix the iso value in order to make shure I do not get into the higher noise area.
I will mostly use my Pentax telezoom 100-300 4.6-6.5.
Any advice from experienced wildlife photographers is welcome.:)

Thnaks for the fast responses. However I do not think it is the type of reader or the type of card: One of the 2 cards is a normal SD card.... And the card reader is a USB2.0 one .....
I did delete the pictures in them on the PC using windows explorer, and then started using them again in the camera....

I just bought a k20d and joined the forum and I already have a question.
The red in all my photographs (so far only taken inside and in evening) show an awfull color red. Bright red shows as puple.
What are the best default color settings? I placed all color setting under the functionskey in the middle and selected 'natural'. White balance is on Auto. Still no bright red.
Is there a setting I am missing??
