Well, the one thing for sure is that I need to just out and just start taking pictures.

How else will I learn? Well, thanks everyone and I will get back to you later on with some samples.

Maybe I need to get a fast lens such as the 50MM f1.4 or Metz 48 flash.
I think the issue with "me" the end user, not the camera? Would you agree?

I have a K-x which is my sisters, so I will take that. I hope the K-x is good enough. For such photography.
And she has 18-55 and 55-300 kit lenses.

I only want to bring two lenses. And I'm fine with buying one lens, but at the end, I just want to bring two lenses.

Do you think I need to bring an external flash? I will not have a laptop, but I will have 4 - 6GB of memory.

Thanks,

With the K-x after a picture is taken (RAW or JPG 2MB) format, it takes 3 seconds before picture is displayed on the screen. I'm using SanDisk Extreme III Class 6.

Is that normal?

Which would you suggest?

I currently have the 16-55 and 50-300 kit.

It's callled "Slow Sync Mode" Does K-x have that option?
I'm looking to get an external flash, and I dont know if that option is camera or flash specific.

K-x Flash Question

I see, so it's a flash feature, NOT camera. Am I understanding this correctly?

Therefore; if it's a flash feature, I have to ensure that which ever Pentax or Metz flash I get it has slow sync feature.

K-x Flash Question

If you want to take a night photo of a person standing in front of a water fountain, but you want both the person and water fountain in the picture. What would that feature be called and is it controlled by flash or camera? Does K-x have that feature?

And - Does Pentax K-x have all the same flash options as Nikon day D90 and D5000?

NIKON has these:
• TTL: i-TTL balanced fill-flash and standard i-TTL flash for digital SLR using 420-pixel RGB sensor are available with built-in flash and SB-900, SB-800, SB-600, or SB-400
• Auto aperture: Available with SB-900, SB-800 and CPU lens
• Non-TTL auto: Supported flash units include SB-900, SB-800, SB-28, SB-27, and SB-22s
• Range-priority manual: Available with SB-900 and SB-800

I think all those programs are great, but there is no program out there for Pentax RAW format, that can modify a RAW files like Capture NX2 does with Nikon RAW files.

Poll: If you had to pick today, would you get a K7, or a K-x?

For me, I always take pictues of my child indoors, in low light, so I really wanted a camera which can work well in low light. K-7 is good, but K-x is so much better in low light. If Pentax would just speed up and combine the K-7 and K-x together.

:)

Nulla,

I do understand your point. I had a Nikon D40, nothing expensive, but Nikon are very expensive, it's crazy. Many people say that Pentax has amaing glass and prices are much better.

I think K7 would have been amazing with K-x chipset.

But, with the K-7 you would not have the high ISO option.

Hi Everyone,

Is there a software out there that is similar to this tool?
Precise Selective Photo Editing

I came from Nikon D40, using Capture NX2 and it was amazing. Wondering if there is any other product that is similar.

Thanks.

Peter

I would get the 18-55 and 55-300 kit. You are paying very little more for 55-300.
