Yes it does beep when in focus...plus there is a green box that lets you know when the K-X is in focus

Wow what a deal...I was mad since I ordered the black one (i Think classy black wins for me) on December 4th from Amazon on sale for 549.00 withe the Kit lens. So I called Amazon and they honored the new sale price with the instant $50.00 and credited my account! Life is good!
