Hi Mike,
No, it is a KENKO Ext. tube. This is an old photo just to show the flash diffuser. I don't use the ext. tube anymore, my eyes cant do manual focus anymore.

Hi Jer and thank you. My postings have been, and will continue to be very sporadic My eyes are not in goo shape (AMD). The vision changes, some days are better (or worse ) than others, it also depends on how the bi-monthly shots work. But at 91 I am not complaining. :):)
Thank you EM, I do appreciate your comment.
Thank you for the kind words.
Thank you for the kind comment, ther is not much of a technic to learn. I use a homemade flashy diffuser ala forum member "Rense" thali he posted quiet a few years ago
Aside from that it takes a lot of patience keep in mind that the success rate is low. In case of this posting: that little twig is always moving in the wind, the ants are constantly on the move and I am hand holding the camera and the focus area is very thin. So there is a whole lot of luck involved. If I get one good image out of thirty I am happy. The last imge in this series is a 100% crop.

Hi lesmore and thank you. This "micro" world is a wonderful place to explore, even as my old back doesn't always agree. :)

Tis morning on my walk I met this nice bird and he posed for a while.
The blackbirds harassed him constantly, they are nesting in the bull rashes and he was way too close.
Almost straight up and away

This grass (I don't know its name) groves at the edges of wetlands. Doesn't look much of anything as you walk by. But than if you take a closer look it is an amazing plant
The first image is appr. life size.

Hi Les and thank you. The Creek was good to me the last 3 years, but we moved away from it. Elly had to go into dementia care, and I moved into an apartment building next to her building. It's in another part of town away from the creek and since I don't drive anymore that's it for the creek but I'll find something else to chase.:):)

Hi Jer and thank you, this is a juvenile, face isn't white yet. They stop here for a week or so on their way south from their northern beeding grounds.
