Item Description
I'm moving over to a Micro 4/3 system for the audio/video capabilities, and all the Pentax gear must go to pay for the new stuff. Pix below.

Camera bodies:
  • Pentax K-X black body. I bought this new from B&H in 2010. 8,020 Shutter Count. There are a few specks on the focusing screen, but sensor and mirror are clean. Built-in flash pops up, but does not fire. Comes with original user manual, strap and body cap. --- SOLD

  • Pentax K-01 black body. Also bought this new from B&H in 2012. Used primarily for video, so low shutter count of only 1,784. Works perfectly, clean sensor. It comes with a detachable VFinder viewfinder loupe that attaches with velcro to the back of the camera. Also comes with original user manual, battery, charger, body cap, strap and software. --- SOLD

  • Pentax K1000 SE. I am the second owner. Excellent condition, works perfectly. Split-prism focusing screen, no light leaks, light meter works as it should. --- $60

DA autofocus lenses:
  • Pentax DA-L 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. Purchased new as kit lens with K-X above. Clean, works perfectly. Comes with UV filter, lens hood and original caps. --- $40

  • Pentax DA-L 50-200mm f/4-5.6. Purchased in 2010 from twokatmew on this forum. Excellent condition. Comes with 52mm UV filter, original caps and lens hood. --- $90

  • Pentax DA 35mm f/2.4 AL. Purchased new in 2017. Mint condition. The Plastic Fantastic. Comes with 49mm UV filter and original caps. --- $100

KA Manual focus lenses. All of these lenses are full-frame, and work either using the aperture ring, or with digital-era camera aperture switch.
  • Vivitar 19mm f/3.5. Purchased used from KEH in 2010 (I think). Very clean, snappy. Unusual, non-fisheye field of view on a full-frame camera, also works well on APS-C. Comes with 62mm UV filter and original caps. --- $115

  • Pentax SMC A 28mm f/2.8. One of my favorite lenses, especially when I was shooting film. Good condition, very clean, no fungus. The front filter thread is a bit tight, but works OK. Comes with 49mm UV filter and front and rear caps. --- SOLD

  • Pentax SMC A 50MM f/1.4. Beautiful lens, near-mint condition. Comes with 49mm UV filter and original front and rear caps. --- SOLD

M42 Screwmount lenses:
  • Takumar Preset 105mm f/2.8 M42. A gem of a lens, and the hardest for me to part with. Very clean, no fungus, little dust. Silky smooth focus. Preset function lets you close aperture continuously, with no increments, up to whatever minimum aperture you set. Comes with original front and rear caps, lens hood and leather case. --- Sold

  • Tokina 135mm f/2.8 M42. Good condition. Tight focus, snappy aperture and no fungus. Built-in, retractable lens hood. Comes with front and rear caps. --- $70

Other items:
  • Vivitar 2x Telextender for KA manual focus lenses. --- $30

  • Genuine Asahi Pentax M42 to K-mount adapter. With envelope, instructions and removal tool. --- $40

Pentax cameras with 48,000 sample-rate audio in video mode?

I've worked with unsynced (no timecode, no HDMI jam-sync) audio and video from two separate recorders in the past. Yes, it drifts out of sync, but much less so if all the audio is in the same sample rate. If they're all the same sample rate, you can find a sync point (clapboard, or some other visual/audio cue), sync them once, and not have to worry about it again for 30 minutes or more. If they're differing sample rates, even if you resample the audio, they drift out of sync within less than a minute. It's a nightmare.

No answers, though, to my question? I can't find anything in the specs for the K-S2, K-70, K-P to indicate the audio sample rate one way or another.

Pentax cameras with 48,000 sample-rate audio in video mode?

Thanks for the reply.

I already have a Zoom H2 recorder that I use for audio, that works great. The Zoom records at sample rates of 44,100, 48,000 or 96,000.

The issue is with trying to sync that audio with video coming from a Pentax camera. If the Zoom is at 48,000 and the audio from the Pentax video is at 32,000, then the sync drifts over time in a video nonlinear editor.

As I said, I know the K-3 uses 48,000 audio sampling, but I'm trying to find out if any other Pentax cameras do as well.

I know the K-3, K-3II and K-1 use a 48,000 sample rate for their audio. (Instead of the 32,000 used by the K-01 and K-5)

Do any other Pentax offerings use the higher sample rate?

Thanks for the comments.

I have no idea where the black edges are coming from. I'm saving in DNG format, and using UFRaw and Gimp to develop and rescale.

Prefer this one? Sunset's not quite as spectacular, but no silhouetted person in the foreground.

Any way to embed images from Flickr? I tried "grabbing the link" from Flickr, and inserting it in the "picture" button on this forum, but it didn't work.

OK, nothing earth-shattering so far, but here are a few of my favorites. All shot with manual focus lenses:
The first with a Super Takumar 55mm/1.8 M42;
The second with a Pentax SMC-A 28mm/2.8;
The third and fourth with a Super Takumar 35mm/3.5 M42.

Setting Shutter Speed for Video (A How To Guide)

This thread is about the Canon 7D, but the principles are the same.

BASICS: Frame Rate & Shutter Speed at DVinfo.net

K-X does not have a 1/48 shutter, so use 1/50 instead. It's close enough.
