Who would like to see a wedding photography section on the forum?

It seems like the topic of wedding photography is popping up more and more and with the advancement of Pentax cameras I believe it will continue to be a popular topic. There are a lot of Pentaxians that have a wealth of experience that we could all learn from. It would be great to have a place on the forum where those of us involved in wedding photography can discuss, share and critique. What do you think?

Love the blues in this, insane looking image.

Ilford 3200 shot at 12500 or pushed two stops in development... (I just shot it metered at 3200 and then pushed 2 stops in development) DDX

I know some people won't like the contrasty look of the image but I kind of like it.

How do you get this close with P67?

The 75 2.8 AL will focus that close but the 105 2.4 with close up filter might be more pleasing for tight portraits.
Here are some tight shots i took with the 75 2.8 AL http://www.capturedbyfilm.com/film/last-purchase-of-2013/

Just interesting...
Canon 5D Mark III Left with Canon 85 1.8 | Pentax 67 , Pentax 165 2.8, Ektar 100, CS FILM Lab, Right
The chromo kind of kills the Canon 85 1.8...
This is not meant to be an identical test just interesting I thought.

Learning... And Teaching the Young Ones..

My middle boy (David 7) has always been interested in photography. He finally went halfsies with me on a Pentax ist and Pentax M 50 F2 lens. The whole set up was less than $150. Bought the camera and lens used from KEH and it looks brand new and came with a custom Kat Eyez focusing screen that looks just like the screen in my Pentax ME Super. I really think it is important to learn how to manual focus when learning photography and this camera was the perfect set up for a beginner. While teaching him about aperture, shutter speeds and how to read a light meter, my oldest boy (Troy 9) decided he wanted to learn as well. Troy was able to nail focus right away with the digital Pentax ist so I lent him my ME Super and M 50 1.7 until he can buy his own :) It’s been two or three weeks since they started learning and all I can say is Wow!!! Kids can pick up new things like no one else. They can already shoot their cameras in all manual and know how to properly use a light meter.
Here are a few pics from Troy’s first roll of film, all metered with a sekonic 308 light meter.

A few from the last two weeks. My LX is getting fixed so the ME Super has been getting some use.
I use a Mamiya C330F a lot but these were taken with the ME Super.
I have a A 50 1.2 I use with my LX and SA-23 focusing screen but don't quite trust myself with it with the ME Super so I have been using the M 50 1.7
All shot with Portra 400 and developed and scanned by me.

From my blog... The “Test Batch” | Our Journey with Film | Part 1
Jamie and I began our journey with film a little over a year ago. At the time, it was just another tool to push us as photographers. No LCD screen on the back of our camera to check if we had gotten “The Shot”, no memory cards, no instant gratification. What we found was a deeper passion for our art. We also discovered a community of other film shooters with like passion and a desire to help others learn the craft of film photography. In the coming months we hope to share part of that journey. Below is a compilation of images known to us as the “Test Batch”. We were not just content to learn how to shoot film but we also wanted to understand how to develop and take it from analog to digital. During the month of January we began our journey with black and white development. It’s a fairly easy process but due to some faulty equipment it took us a full month to get the results we wanted. Every time we stumbled, there was a plethora of people in the film community to help us troubleshoot. You will see a lot of water spots, dust, light leaks and other technical problems in this “Test Batch”. We had to shoot and develop every day for a month to get the results we wanted. Despite the dust and out of focus shots, the film we shot during this one month period has become very dear to our hearts and will give you a glimpse into our family of six.

No problem printing Tri-X400 large with 35mm. MPIX had a 50% off sale so I thought I would try it out.

Learned how to develop B&W during the month of January. These are from the "Test Rolls" a bit dusty and have some water spots but I love them.
