Heading to Stuttgart | Schwabish Gmund | Munich | Bern for a week or so next month. Have recently built up some good lenses and am making a plan for what to bring. My wife will have the camera with her for the first few days as she traipses around Stuttgart waiting for me to join, so I want to keep it as easy as possible without forgetting anything. Other possibilities include renting a lens if the need is not met by what I have:
What I have:- DA-L 35mm
- DA Limited 40
- 18-135 WR
- 55-300 WR
- Pentax-M 50mm f/1.7
- Pentax-A 50mm f2.8 Macro
My thoughts were to take the two WR and the DA40. I didn't think I needed anything faster than the f2.8 on the 40 for what I'm doing, I like how small it is, and am not sure I want the 50mm focal length as a walkaround vs. the 40.
The plan is city-viewing, some back country, a concert (Melissa Etheridge) and some snow peaks. Lots of people shots, lots of architecture shots, not a lot of animal / nature / high action shots.
Anything I'm missing that might be helpful? Anything I'm taking that isn't useful? Anything I should try to talk the wife into letting me rent?
Thanks in advance!

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 DG EX Asking Price
200.00 USD Item Location
Arlington, VA (United States) Item Description
Selling my walk-around Sigma DG 28-70 f/2.8 EX lens. This was my first fixed aperture lens, and I bought it about 3 years ago for use with my then K-x. I've upgraded to a K-3 and it's still been an excellent lens!
Upgrading to the K-3 has put my focus on WR lenses due to my shooting of triathlon and running events, so I'm selling this to make funds for WR lenses. I've had no issues with it, and it's always given me great photos!
Included in this sale is:- Lens
- Replacement Lens cap (original went for a swim from my shirt pocket in the Chesapeake. Feel free to find it!)
- Sunpack UV filter
- Lens Hood
- Original Sigma lens case
No issues with the lens, fungus or dust. No scratches or marks that I can see on the outside. Pictures of the lens and accessories are below, as are a couple of sample shots from my recent South Africa trip.
Price is $200 or best offer. Buyer pays actual shipping up to $20, I'll pay shipping above that. Will ship to North America, but may entertain offers beyond.

Haha. It's my SMC A 50mm f2.8 macro. My New Year's Resolution is one photo per day, so I've been shooting with it as practice for when I have to travel with my K-3. It's my smallest lens at the moment.

Interesting. I guess that makes sense then, as my lowest file was an ornament with a very bokeh-y background and the highest was my Christmas Day meal.

Was poking through my Christmas JPEG shots (I'm currently fighting with iPhoto for RAW import) from my K-3 and found something curious: Despite not changing any settings, and the resolutions all being the same (6016x4000), my photos all seem to be a different size! They range from 8.9 MB to 15.0 MB (quite the range).
What determines the size of the JPEG that is generated? These were all shot with the same lens (50-300 WR) on the same day within about 30 minutes of each other.
