I has to take out the SD card and connect it directly to my mac in order to get them

thanks.
So eventually, I should work using my U1 mode "standard configuration" in which are my regular settings and P mode, and if I do a lot of modifications, just going out and back in this mode again will have it reset to my standard config?
I'll try that

Hi,
I'm a happy owner of a GRiii after having used the GRi for a long time.
I decided recently to make more use of the 6 user modes that can be saved (from which 3 can be assigned to the dial U1, U2 and U3).
I have one for B&W street photo, one for sport, one for whatever so I always have them available quickly under U1, U2 and U3.
But unless I am in these specific need, I use the P mode (or Av or Tv) mode.
Now, it happens that in a particular situation (like shooting long exposure of a waterfall), I will be in P mode, shift to get the shutter speed I need and add new settings, lets say putting the internal ND filter, changing Auto ISO to ISO100.
Sometime, I fiddle around a lot in order to find the good settings for that situation and forget all the little changes I made. So unless I remember and remove all these changes I made, they will still be active on my next photos.
So I would like to find a way to "reset" the P mode to my own "basic" configuration.
I did such basic configuration that I saved under one of the user mode (in BOX4) but as I understand, it can be recalled only to be assigned to the U1 to U3 user mode (which I dont want to remove) but not onto the P mode or Av mode.
How do you deal with that?
Or am I overthinking :D

well, I was actually searching for someone who tried in order to confirm what works or not before I buy anything :)
I imagined some Ricoh GR addicts would have gone the same way when upgrading their camera

Hi,
I own a Ricoh GR (the first APS-C model) together with a GH-3 adaptator and a GW-3 wide lens.
I am thinking sell sell the ricoh to buy the new GRiii version.
Can you tell me if the GH-3 and GW-3 will still work on it?
I find contradictory infos about this.
It seems the GH-3 wont work (too short apparently) but the GW-3 will work (with a proper longer adaptator).
I know the GW-4 would be ideal but that's plenty more money on top the GRiii
Thanks

the second set of pictures (2 dogs) seem too much identical to me:
Exactly same perspectives, dogs didnt move at all, I dont believe this was taken by 2 different cameras.
What do you think?

Im looking for a pocketable good camera and this GRD seems very interesting.
However, how does it compare with the Sony RX100 ?
Is the sensor size difference that much in favour of the GRD ?

what if you were using a compact camera?
everybody knows that a good photopgraph would do a better job with theses that a beginner with a FF.
Would you still feel offended ?
Once you're a know photograph, you can photograph with everything you want, even a compact.
But since you're unknown, you need to make some points and equipment you use is one amongst others.

Hi,
To this flash buyers, i would like to know if, when ordering it, you need to specify you have a Pentax camera, or if thsi flash is compatible with all systems (pentax, nikon, canon).
That would be nice since I'm also looking for adding a Canon FF to my gear.
Thanks

Hi Littledrawe,
Nice to see your post :)
I actually have exactly the same extension tubes, found second hands for few bucks recently, and also had trouble in making a proper macro picture.
I used a manual facus pentax 50mm /1.7 A lens for that, and I noticed that I can not set the aperture (manually on the lens or via the camera in Av mode) as required.
When mounting the tube on the lens, everything looks ok. Moving manually the small metallic "finger" (what's the name in english?) would trigger the diaphragm properly.
But when I mount the lens+ tube on the K5, while turning to fix it, I can see the diaphrag opening as wide as possible (so it sticks f1.7) and nothing can be done to close it.
I guess that what you have too, overexposure because your lens is actually opened at its maximum and not at the f16 value you set.
If somebody knows how to fix that

Hi,
I am a k5 owner but since the recent canon news (5Dmk3), I'm finally looking toward buying a fullframe 5Dmk2 (second hand) that are becoming more and more affordable now.
The main complaint I could read about the 5Dmk2 is its autofocus and I''m wondering up to which extent does the 5dmk2 can compare with a k5 autofocus.
Is it comparable, is the 5Dmk2 much faster (but so-called slow for a "pro" FF camera) or is the k5 faster (being a much recent product)?
Sorry to ask this here but I'm sure more people know teh 5Dmk2 here that people know teh k5 on a canon forum
Thanks

the main issue with such devices (and even with a proper equatorial mount) is to set them up correctly to align with the earth rotation axis.
It is easier and more accurate with some equatorial mount, especially is you have a telescop that you can use to correct the drift.
I built few of them while still using film cameras but having a k5 now, I would give a try to the easy Pentax O-GPS1 solution :)

if pentax could also "compensate" meaning produce a Full Framce camera (such a the D4 or the 1DIV you compared the k5 with) I wouldnt mind...

never heard this reason but it sounds like good one, although in my case I would privilege the disk space rather than camera CPU.
Would you know the values for a K5?
