Quite a nice sunset over my way this evening... Found myself down in Tacoma to shoot some pilings I haven't seen before and was quite surprised when the sky took to pink and red shortly after sundown. I have to say, I'm becoming a fan of Tacoma -- it has some nice waterfront parks and none of the crowds of Seattle. We also got to watch a mature bald eagle flit from piling to piling before being chased away by seagulls (the true arseholes of the sky).

Had to get out of the house today before the next wave of Canadian air and snow hits. So I took the 150-500 to Beaver Lake to get some Redpolls and whatever else was at the feeders.

Shame, have my eye on that lens, looks like a lot of bang for the buck and certainly easier to carry around than a fast telephoto zoom. Nothing wrong with those images :)

I have very minimal experience with fashion/glamour photography but recently have been exploring the genre a little bit. This was shot at home on a thunder grey seamless paper backdrop; lighting is in a clamshell configuration, key light is an AB800 with a gridded softbox boomed overhead plus a silver reflector below for fill. I would have liked to use an octabox or beauty dish instead for a more circular catch-light but I'm borrowing the lighting gear from a friend so I'll take whatever I can get my hands on. :)
