For full manual camera, i turn the focus ring just a bit to far and than back a bit to far and work my way to the best focus point

I used the MX a lot when it was brand new (yes, i am that old :D ) . I often used it in freezing temperatures (up to -15 degrees Celsius or even colder) and never had any problems with the metering. And the other extreme, i used it in the desert in Egypt with more then 40 degrees Celsius, also with no problems.

Same thing here, wobble when extended. Even have some dust spots inside the lens that are visible at the pictures.

I can recommend the Heat company WIND PRO LINER: 1st Layer gloves | THE HEAT COMPANYŽ
I am using those for a while now, and they work like a charm, are wind and water repellent and resistant and give you a perfect anti slip grip.
Have used them in freezing temperatures with no problem at all.

I use it to organise all my pictues. Always use the batch add things to the EXIF information, ae where the pictures where taken. Also very useful to batch convert and/or resize images.

The battery type is the MS412FE-FL26E
Even when you do not want to replace the internal battery, it is wise to remove it anyway. The battery in my MX-1 was leaking but luckily didn't leak at the printed circuit board yet..

The internal battery is very easy replaceable. At the Dutch Pentax forum we (Jan and me) investigate this and found the proper part number of the internal battery and how to replace it. (need some soldering skills though )
I am on the road at the moment an can place a link this evening.

I tried several video to usb converters. A lot of them won't capture very good, or even won't work at all.
I finally found Elgato video capture ( Video Capture | elgato.com ) and am very satisfied with the result, so i really can recommend it.
I converted VHS tapes with a second hand VHS recorder and Hi8 tapes directly from my old sony handycam.

I have done the modification of the Pentax 60-250 with a 3d printed baffel. It really isn't rocket science. But you absolutely need the proper glue to stick it together again.

I know this is an old topic, but i really need some extra info of the inside of the MX-1
Did you by chance know what type of button cell is present on the small circuit board at the left side of the camera.
I guess that is the button cell that is empty in my MX-1 and is the reason ti won't remember all the settings when replacing the battery of the camera.

I have the new 100mm and tested it.
It has 2 settings, (don't know the exact phrase but close to) near and far.
It works like a charm and prevents hunting where the 'old' 100 was very sensitive for.

You can change the letters in front of the numbers. (at least as far as I know absolutely with the K7 and the K1-II)
Default it is IMGP. I changed it TO IMGA and when reaching 9999, changed it to IMGB and so on (currently at IMGF) 😊
When you would reset the numbering, you would end up with pictures with the same name with all rhe risks of overwriting older pictures.
