Replacing my 40D for a pentax

hi guys. as the title says, im thinking of replacing my 40D and getting a pentax. im leaning towards the kx. yes it might be considered a downgrade but my needs right now is towards a camera with a decent video. im also considering the k7. what i want is something better that the 40d, lighter and with video. as you see im confused right now so any help will be appreciated :)
