Sure, it's just fine for weddings.
I've shot two weddings with mine so far.

Ever since I installed the latest firmware, my photo playback has been funny.
It sometimes makes the rear screen go blank until I hit the shutter button.
Also, I'll be in playback, and when I move the camera body it will automatically go back to shooting mode.
Anyone else have these issues?
I just heard back from the studio I shot for last weekend. They asked if I had trouble getting tack sharp. I initially thought it was my shooting. Didn't even think it could have been the firmware.

I have recently purchased a Sunpak Super 383 Flash to use with my K100D. As I am learning how to use it, I have noticed that it will not fire when the camera's shutter speed is set at 200 or faster.
I have the camera is set in manual mode, and I have tested the flash in both automatic and manual mode with no firing.
Is this user error, or do I have a defective flash or camera body?

Sound!
It fit my hands just a little better than the Nikon, so the deciding factor was the sound of the shutter.
It just sounds like I'm taking a REAL picture.

You need to use Remote Assistant Ver 1. Also, I find that the system would sometimes freeze when I had Assistant set to Buffer Select and Auto Save mode. I also had Photo Labratory open at the same time, so that could have been the issue.
I ended up with Remote Assistant 1 open along side Picasa. That seemed to work the best.
If you understand that you're not going to get full functionality out of RA, then you should be good.

No hints yet. I'll re-crop the photo if no one gets it after a few tries.

I took this shot just a few weeks ago while I was on vacation on Cape Cod, MA. It was early morning and the girlfriend and I went out on a hunt to find some lighthouses and Dunkin Donuts coffee. Being an East Coaster now living on the West Coast, you would understand. I just happened to catch this surfer in the early morning fog. Just one of "those" moments.
Taken with a K100D and the DA50-200 lens w/ UV and Cir Polarizing filter. I used minimal burning in CS2 to bring out the definition in the waves.

I'm researching purchasing my first lens (that wasn't included with my K100D body), and I would appreciate a little help and guidance.
First, how do I find out the type of mount my camera has? I have seen "K" and "DA" and I'm not sure what they mean or the differences.
Also, what should I look for in a lens? I understand the difference of a fixed and zoom lens. Macro, telephoto, and the sort. What I'm wondering is more along the lines of brands I should and should not look at.
My goal is to find something in the 50mm to 200mm telephoto zoom range, and would like to find a deal on e-bay. My problem is I don't have enough experience to know what I'm really looking for or at.
Any advice is appreciated,
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
I just moved from Miami to Los Angeles and on the way, I purchased a K100D. What better way to force myself to see California than to buy a nice new camera. - Smitty
