I turned 40 a couple of years ago and my wife decided I needed a hobby to get myself from under her feet. As I had always fancied having a bash at photography, we were at a carboot sale one day and there was a wedding photographer there who was selling off old film equipment that she didn't need anymore as she had gone digital. My wife, wonderful woman that she is snapped (geddit) up the lot and I was away. What I got was a Chinon CE5, what a wonderful starter SLR that was, as I got more into it, I started reading up, a lot, and decided that the Pentax K1000 was for me as it was seen as the ideal student camera, and what was I but a student.
I have just recently bought myself a K20D, what a beautiful machine it is, the first time I picked one up it just felt right in my hands, weighty but not too heavy and a lovely clear viewfinder.
Anyway that's enough for now, I'm more of a lurker than a taker parter but now I'm registered you never know:)
