And tamron 70-300 costs around half DA 55-300 .. so what are we talking about? price or IQ? according to photozone, the site you recommended, Sony 70-300 is best of it's breed (on any mount).

It seems that the reviewr downgraded A550 not becaudse it's a bad camera but it's more expensive. Price goes into rating of the camera. If that was the case, then wouldn't that mean
that Kx didn't beat A550 because Kx is a better camera but it's a better value according to that site? A500 is $200 cheaper than A550 so that probably would have effected the final result?

I didn't see any review of A500 on that site .. only A550 with a different sensor (and more expensive) was reviewed.

Never? I just looked through the list and see A700 and A900 as "HR" on that site.

Tamron is faster but for a zoom lens limited. 50mm is not long enough for a good walkaround lens. 16-80mm and 16-105mm are far more useful zooms. I see Tamron 17-50 is also on Sony mount.

Looks like most serious con with Kx is quality control. First it was battery. Now some people are reporting blur in some situations due to SR.

Does Pentax have more lenses than all old discountinued Minolta and Sony combined? Why would anyone need all these lenses, as long as the most important ones are available.
What's Pentax equiv to Zeiss 16-80mm and Sony 16-105mm

Looks like Kx has a lot more issues with QC. First it was battery. Now it's blury photos in certain situations due to SR bugs.
