Haha, excellent! I like how the poster in the background mimics the motion of the puddle jumper. ;)

Works fine on my 55-300, but it vignettes my 18-55 at wide. At 18mm, I can't get the hood to hide. It is rubber, so maybe you can cut or shape it to work. Otherwise, it's a very clever hood.

I now have two 50mm lenses. I snagged an A f/2 lens off CL with K1000 body, both in excellent condition for $25. It's plenty fast enough for most situations and the A helps with video mode. Thing is, I find myself taking most of my indoor pictures of the kids at around f2.8 because the DOF is a bit wider.
I do have a faster Ricoh XR Rikonen f/1.7, fully manual of course, but the DOF is so narrow that it becomes much tougher to focus. I use it for still subjects, or sometimes portraits. When I do use it on portraits, I take a ton of pictures at 4.7fps, rocking the focus around what I think is in focus. I snagged this lense for aboug $40 off CL.

Agreed. Look at the child in the first pic. How tall do you think he is? Waist height? He's shooting from the hip.
In the 2nd pic, there's a few people lying on the ground. He may have just gone with the flow, casually lied down. Or perhaps he set the camera down with a timer or remote shutter.
I bet these photo journalists have a ton of experience and a huge bag of tricks.

Grabbed a Pentax K1000 body, neck strap, and 50mm f2 A lense from Craigslist for $25. It's in beautiful condition, looks barely used. I really dig the retro neck-strap. While f2 isn't the fastest 50mm lense, I think the A lense will be particularly helpful in video mode and may make for a nice walk around lense.
Snagged a Ricoh XR Rikenon 50mm f1.7 off ebay for $30 shipped. Not as hot of a deal, but I think the fast 50mm are in decent demand on ebay right now. I think it lacks coating. If that's true, it may be a nightmare for flare.
I'm really hoping to snag up a 300mm f4 M or A lense for Wildlife photography. After cropping factor I'm looking at about 450mm. That will be fantastic.

Ordered mine on 1/2 from Amazon. Still hasn't shipped yet. Hopefully you'll get lucky and be in the same ship group as me and not have to wait so long.
*************** had instructions for a free Prime trial. I hit it and bought 1 day shipping for $4.
Great news! My kit shipped from Amazon today (1/16).

@Igilligan
When did you order? I ordered mine from Amazon and I'm still waiting. The anxiety is killing me. I've already started blowing cash on lenses from ebay, CL, and all kinds of accessories I could have waited on.
