If you are concerned about safe guarding pics against unforeseen circumstances you need to store at least one copy of your pic repository off site so fire or theft do not result in a complete loss. Flickr can serve this purpose but if you do not upload your 'family' pics into the cloud then offsite archival storage is a must.

I broke my Q10 LCD screen after dropping it in a padded camera case. It was only 3 days old and I had not taken a single pic when the fate intervened. Anyway, the Australian Pentax distributor repaired it for $120.
Give the cost of repairs here this must have been a fast, simple task

G'day
I have recently obtained a Exakta 100-500mm 5.6-8 MC macro zoom lens with a Pentax K mount. I know nothing about this lens. How old/ rare is it? How good are the optics? The front lens needs professional cleaning. Is it worth spending the money to have it serviced?
Thanks

Thanks for the responses. The link to the explanation of Pentax lens codes was really useful. As for the 'P' I will take your advice and ignore it.

G'day
I am looking to buy some Pentax lenses on eBay. Some lenses have a P- in front of their FA code. What does the P- denote? What is the difference between a lens coded as a SMCP-FA and one labelled SMC FA?
