Here's my suggestion: I want ultra-low ISO. Like 25, 10 or even 8. It would make it easier to keyshift sunlight, and shoot wide-open, without AF-inhibiting neutral density filter hacks. It shouldn't be that hard to pull off, seeing as it's turning down a signal rather than turning it up, and if I'm right would give a simple competitive advantage to the next Pentax DSLR (would be even more amazing if this could be added to my K-5!). I would love a faster sync speed to go with it, too.
I will not be upgrading to full-frame any time soon. I will not be buying a much more expensive camera, and new, more expensive lenses. 16 megapixels is already more than enough, RAW files are large enough for all my needs, and more will just cause processing and storage concerns.
My lens suggestion: I would love a lens in the spirit of my 50-135 that covers the range of 24-70mm. That range is wonderful for portraits on a crop sensor. I'd be surprised if that happened, but that's the only glass that would be on my must-buy list.

This could be a form letter for all the proof of listening it contains. It doesn't even mention full-frame, let alone suggest that it's a future direction. But that's not a problem for me. Since the K-5 joined my camera bag, my desire to upgrade to full-frame has simply evaporated. I don't want a heavier, bigger, clumsier camera with more resolution. The only remaining feature I'd love is a bigger optical viewfinder. But the AF is now good enough that that's a wish not a need.

I've got the same one, Daniel! It's found new life on my K-5 and K-7 (it didn't focus very accurately on the old K10D). It's not as wide as I got used to with my 16-45mm, but that means that I don't have to worry about nearly as much distortion, either. The reversed zoom ring bugs me, but for the screaming deal I got on it brand new, I'm pleased, and don't feel too much pressure to get a wider 2.8 yet.

This gives me a couple of options to try out.
Jeff, I didn't feel called out by your comment -- I just downloaded and tried Lightroom for the first time yesterday. :-)
While that's certainly a useful tool, it doesn't explain why my camera is generating this problem in the first place. Set on daylight WB while shooting outdoors during the day, I'm not seeing this issue. My concern is that for a wedding of several hundred images I'm still going to have to go through determining which are available light, which are flash, and which are mixed. No tool is going to turn that into a snap...
Hang on sec -- I may have found it! Custom function 10 puts the camera in AWB when the flash is going. What? That's crazy talk! I wish I had my camera with me right now to fix it right this second. I searched white balance in the manual's index before posting, but it didn't direct me to the custom functions that control it. D'oh!
Thanks for pushing me in that direction, Reps.

Okay, haven't seen this one addressed anywhere. I've done a few shoots where flash was the only light source. My K-7 is set to flash white balance, flashes are set manually (optical, not ttl slaved) and exposure is set manually (1/180s to kill the ambient). Shooting conditions are stable (indoors, lights on stands, etc.). And yet the colour 'walks' all over the place. Some shots are warm some are cool, all shot in RAW (DNG).
In Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4, they're all recognised as being set to 'Flash'. In Lightroom 2.6 however, the Kelvin rating is all over the place (4600K to 6150K), and if I manually put in the same number (eg 5000K), the whole sequence of images come into range and they look as expected.
Can anyone explain what's going on here? The amount of post this is causing is totally ridiculous -- having to touch each image is tedious! I've used this camera for about 4 important shoots with flashes, and have had this issue each time.

Hi everyone! I've been shooting Pentax since I started with a brand new MZ-60, and now have a K-7 with a range of lenses and three flashes.
I major on people pictures, including weddings, but that doesn't stop me from shooting anything and everything. I am however philosophically opposed to me carting my camera around with me at all times...as is my wife. :-)
I hope I can learn and contribute lots here.
