Looking at getting a 50mm prime for my K20D.

I already have the Pentax-M 50mm f1.4. Whilst it is a decent lens I've noticed when taking pictures at night there is a fair bit of purple fringing. Is this normal?

Here's a picture:

Obviously in good lighting the prime I current have is good.

Anyway, Looking at purchasing AF 50mm prime.

Can someone tell me:

Pentax 50mm F2.8 SMC D FA Macro Lens
Pentax 50mm F1.4 FA Lens

Which is the better/sharper of the two? please note I'd like to use it indoors - so speed is important (f1.4 vs 2.8). Macro is a bonus but not that important.

I'm ok with the price difference.

Is there another alternative?

I want this to be my sharpest lens with bokeh!

Thanks for the feedback guys. The crop? no worries, that's an easy one to fix! :lol:

If I run it at a slower shutter speed, my only worry is the whole lot would be blurrrryyy.. :hmm:

Having the same dilemma. Need somrthing I can use a beater when I goto the beach and go snorkelling. Anyone used the W20 underwater for an extensive amount of time?

I am somewhat tempted byt Oly but put off by his high price. Plus I prefer Pentax.

Any real world experience in regards to underwater stuff for an extensive period of time?
