you can get used tamron 70-200 2.8 for $500.
You lose 100mm reach but gain f2.8 and much sharper lens.
Quality tele lenses are expensive

Just get a used tamron 17-50 for ~$300, if you don't like it you can re-sell it for pretty much the same price.
Hands down the best bang for your buck for all APS-C camera

Canon wins with their bigger lens selection and their pro bodies are currently the best if money is no concern.

the new VC series (24-70, 70-200, 90, 70-300) are all weather sealed. Not sure if they're available on K mount tho

The clone grips are good but I wouldn't call it as good as the original.
I have the clone grips for ~2 yrs, the paint on the buttons start to fade within a year a so and the wheel are now no longer working properly. Pretty sure its also not weather sealed.

The lens has SR suffix on them, so Pentax is moving away from IBIS for FF ?

It looks fine on FastStone on preview mode, when pressing A it has the wrong WB as well.
I guess on preview mode FastStone read the embedded jpeg inside the DNG

Did another test with AWB instead of Zone AWB, didn't exhibit the same problem with the green tint

I'm having weird problem with my LR 5.2 and K-3 raw files.
Here is how the image looks like when imported to my LR:
As you can see the WB is whacked after imported to LR (temp 3650, tint -18), after correction it is 3800 and +15 which resembles how it looks like on the K-3 LCD.
Zone AWB is used in camera.
Need someone to do quick test for me to see if you encounter same issue or I might need to re-install my LR
Here is the DNG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4qqc20oxb9mjtqp/IMGP0493.DNG |

I'll apologize and delete the post if he doesn't want me to do that but he did post the DNG file on his post...
It was 2 min work, I wanted to see how much shadow can really be pushed and black skin + underexposed image was the perfect test subject. Setting was +100 shadow, whites and black. +0.5 exposure, and a very little tweaking on the tone curve.

IDK what was used, I didn't shoot that, see quoted post for the excellent shots by wuzet.
What I mean by quirks is when I was trying to recover the highlights it recover it on some area but burn it on other more. Download the DNG yourself and see if you encounter same behaviour, maybe it's just my LR

Quick PP, I found some quirks while working with the RAW file with LR 5.2, perhaps a DNG profile is needed afterall |

weird I don't see focus peeking during video recording. It works before you press record but as soon as I start recording the focus peaking dissapeared (yes I've enabled it by pressing info)

Right I have tamron 17-50 as well. I really love this lens, its cheap, has great optics and low weight. But it is missing: fast quiet AF, solid build quality and the lens is actually f3.2 instead of 2.8.
I mentioned 50-135 since that's the range Pentax seems to commit to fill the 70-200 range on APS-C. Anyways both 16-50/50-135 are way overdue for an update, especially with a new and faster more reliable motor to match the new AF system from K-3. What's the point of engineering a new AF workhorse when there is no lens to take advantage of it.
