That was my point about the detail. Even though they were backlit I was able to pull the detail back. There is no photoshopping, just adjusted clarity, exposure, highlights, shadows and black and whites.
The blue haze was a happy accident. Just happened as I lowered the whites out :)

The biggest thing with the K-1 is the data that is there. I shoot these at 1/200 5.6 and they are almost black, but then I can pull the data out of it and get these. These are a couple from some weddings I did over the summer. This opened up a whole new world of experimenting. Love it ---------- Post added 11-01-2016 at 12:47 PM ---------- Having trouble adding one more |

I am not sure I have put anything up for Critique before and I have been having a blast with the New K-1 and the world that it opens compared to my two previous Pentax Bodies

Started with a concept that I thought would look nice but as I got halfway through playing with it I thought it made subject too small and took too much away from it so I stopped. Back to the drawing board. Like the project thought, next will just be soldier.

Thanks for the Comments :)
I would have liked to move a bit to the right but he was all the way at the back of the enclosure and there was a tree just to the right.
I like the portrait idea I will do that and see how it looks, I like the shadows and your idea keeps that in frame.
As for the Blur I agree, It is alot sharper on the original but I have been having posting issues unless I take it in to photoshop and save less quality, still working on that.

Havn't posted anything for critique so I thought I would put something out there. All Comments are welcome. This was taken through about 1 inch glass in the Nocturnal Section of Zoo with no flash at 220mm Handheld. The Lens was a Tamron 100-300mm. Think thats all the info. Have at it :D

Was playing with my new K-x with the kit lens and a 10x Macro filter on a smoke break when I saw a snowflake on my co-workers Navy Peacoat. Tried to get it as clear as possible but he kept moving lol. Nothing spectacular but still find it cool how semetrical nature can be.

Kazy, thanks for the info, very helpful I am now leaning towards the Sigma 530, The only thing I noticed is that unlike some of the others the sigma does not offer a usb for future firmware updates. Other than that looks like biggest bang for the buck

Just curious what would be the consensus on the best flash models to look at for the K-X. Looking around the $100-220 range. Also are there Wireless capabilities and if so are they only linked to the Pentax Flash models? Thanks for the input.

Thanks guys all info was very helpfull. I had also found some videos on youtube and along with the information here I find that even though everyone talkes about how compact it is the actual difference is fairly slight. Thanks for the time and assistance.

I have pretty much decided that I will be picking up the K-x, My only issue with this is that It is not carried in any store around me to be able to pick it feel the weight look at the size. Does anyone have any pictures of theirs that would show a better comparison of the actual size of this model? Thanks for the assistance. If this has already been brought up, sorry I was unable to find a comparible thread.

Figured while I wait for my New DSLR I would post a picture on here for kix of an older pic.
Took this pic a few years ago with a non-DLSR, I Know there should have been a little more focus on the face, but for some reason I can't explain this has always been my favorite picture of my son.

Thanks ash, Saw that but that was assuming that you had already taken it in RAW and what you did with the results. Was more curious what others may prefer to take original shot with. Still found it interesting though.

Always try to learn more and continue to read about what I love to do and one of my current books goes into detail about the benefits and downfalls of each format of saving your files. Even with each offering a different quality everyone has their preference that they are a diehard fan of so I thought I would see out of curiosity what the average preference is. I know there are different factors for what we use so I will set the paramiter of a Wedding shoot.
