So I've had my flash for a while now, and never had problems until recently: I can't get the P-TTL to work. The first time I noticed the issue, it wouldn't turn off of TTL. Then just the other day I had the flash on my camera, it WAS on P-TTL, then all of a sudden decided to change to TTL, and even go as far as to change the format to 35mm. I'm using a K20 with a Sigma 24/f1.8.
Any thoughts on what's going on?

so places today don't truly print from the negative? it's actually scanned in digitally, then printed?

Sooooo If the minilab were to print a 4x6 picture from the negative, it should look the exact same as the jpg on the cd? color, grain, etc?

I have this fascination with abandoned buildings. Often there's this feeling of a hurried exit, leaving items behind. This Chevy dealership, once a center of peoples livelihood, is now deserted. |

So as of late, I've been shooting some film. I don't know any darkroom techniques, so I just take mine to my local camera store. Anyways... The last 2 rolls I developed I had scanned to a CD. It seems that scanning captures more of the raw features of film. So, if I want to keep that same 'rawness' that the scanning produces, should I print them from the digital file or directly from the film?

I looked at that KatzEye brand for the focus screens. I bet it would be a big help, but it's a bit pricey at the moment. I like those multipliers but I've read that it crops what' you're seeing - dunno if I would dig that.
In all this, I would have to agree- it's me and my expectations!
I was JUST thinking about this. Instead of actually focusing on the person, try the ground at their feet.
I'll just push on and test things out at a basic level. I've adjusted the diopter, but maybe I'll do some tweaking some more. This has been some great help!

When you refer to focus sensor, are you speaking of the points in the viewfinder?

you can disassemble them and remove shims? I have a Sigma 24mm 1.8 and i'm having some crappy focus issues when shooting 10'+. Think removing shims would help that?

revisiting this once again...
I ended up contacting Sigma regarding this and I'm wondering if I'm getting the runaround. What are your thoughts? Here's what I was told:
I do understand that the "sharpness" will be lacking at a distance (@1.8), but I keep running into an issue of the subject being out of focus.

ok so i'm revisiting this post... I'm wondering if this is an issue in the more low light + distance thing. Up close (not quite macro) comes out pretty good from what i've seen.
I'm going to test with an actual test chart just to do it. Is there an good one i can download? I've seen these few: this one, this one & this one
are either of these ok to use?

I've used the focal adjustments, but it still seemed to do it. MY thought is that since it's at 1.7 the DOF is just so small that it freaks out and and decides it's going to focus wherever. dunno if that's the case. seems a bit fickle to me

I have a k20 and my primary lens is a Sigma 24mm 1.8. The other day,I was shooting in lower than ideal lighting, so instead of adjusting my ISO, I adjusted my f to 1.8 (1.7). When I reviewed the photo, the focus was horrid. The spot i focused on was definitely not in focus (the spot was maybe 50ft away).
I have noticed this more than this one time. Is this a front focus, back focus or completely different issue?

thanks everyone. kind words are much appreciated... the haze was intended. as it was mentioned before about the 70's European spread, i was trying to pull a vintage feel to it.
