Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, I do appreciate all the help. Will probably just stick with AA batteries for now as repair is more costly than the value of the camera.
Thanks again all, have a great holiday season.

Pentax Kr
Camera shuts down (Baterry Depleated) notice with a standard fully charged D-LI109 battery and will not function.
But with 4 Alkaline batteries in an adapter will function fine with no errors.
Anyone have any thoughts on the problem and cure?
Yes, the camera is set to the correct battery type--------
Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is my back-up camera and I was close to scraping it.

Thanks, I think I may have had it set in Composite Mode--------still learning.
Lots of dials and settings on this one.
So far, I'm happy with this one. This is my fourth Pentax, K100, K200D, Kr and now KP still got the Kr as back-up.

Just got my new KP, have loaded lasted Firmware.
Has anyone had this happen, this photo is right off the camera, and appears to be a double exposure.
Can't figure this one out, although is a neat picture, this happened for about 4 frames.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

How does one determine the age (date manufactured) of a Pentax K1000?
Have an extremely clean Pentax K1000 and would like to know how old it is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A simple and cost effective fix I have used, is to buy enough "O" rings of the proper dimension and simply
stretch them over the barrel. No gluing involved, they can be purchased in different colors and are esthetically
pleasing to look at.

In my opinion, the name of the new full frame camera should be K1000D-FF. K1000 in honor of the camera
that started Pentax on their way, D for digital and of course FF for full frame, just saying-------

Are any devices available for controlling Pentax K-r cameras from the rear of the camera, specifically shutter actuation? This seems to be one major function lacking Pentax K-r cameras. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks BLR:hmm:

Stevebrot,
Am trying to set these cameras up to check the front and rear focus.
I thought the more accurate the camera was set-up the better the results would be.
Thanks for your interest, any further input would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently using a Model K110 and a K100D Super.
Were on these camera bodies would represent the film plane or the sensor face?
The old 35mm cameras usually had these reference planes marked the body.
Thanks
