Got to take a few pictures with the v4.0 firmware (mecablitz 48 AF-1) on the K-30. It seems to still underexpose a bit but not as badly as with the stock firmware. I never updated prior to this since the unit worked fine with my K-x... if it ain't broke....

I'll be waiting for the new firmware to be released.

Noticed the same thing with my 48 AF1 which worked well with my K-x. Pictures seem underexposed with the K-30 specially with bounce flash. I have since upgraded the firmware (July 2012 version). Still have to test it.

New K-x firmware?

After seeing a thread at the DPR forum (firmware version K - x 1.01.00.10 available on Pentax Japan site: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review). I downloaded a copy of the firmware from the Japanese Pentax site today.

I compared it to the one I downloaded a few months ago when I upgraded to v1.01.00.07. Although the file names, time stamps, and file sizes are similar, they have different md5 checksums. :hmm: Yet nothing is documented on the website itself.

Does anyone have an idea about what's happening here?

I don't think this is the greatest idea, imho. :(

Rather than a competition this should have been a sort of lottery where each "meaningful" post counts as an entry. That way the drive to "post the most" might be mitigated somewhat.

But congratulations anyway on your millionth-post.:D

My older cam (Olympus Camedia) tended to be more heavily sharpened and are more saturated out of camera. I have learned to appreciated the look of the pictures on my K-x. However, when I miss the old look for certain situations, I usually just toggle the SF (superfine) on and I'm happy.
