As he said in his original post, the lens does NOT have a MF/AF switch. I have one myself and can confirm this. Others have suggested he try recharging the battery -- he said originally that he's already tried all those things. I agree with that he should just return it to KEH -- it's under warranty, after all.

I am not sure if this is the place to ask this question. If not, please point me in the right direction. Those of you who enjoy street photography, just going out into the crowd and looking for interesting people or interesting shots -- if you take just the camera and one lens, what focal length do you use? Assuming you want to use a prime to keep things relatively unobtrusive. Pentax has several that fill that bill, but which focal length do you find most useful?
Thanks in advance.

A few years back, I bid on and won a Konica SLR with macro lens. I forget the model numbers, but it was the lens that I really wanted. I paid via PayPal. The next morning, I found my PayPal payment refunded and a separate email from the seller saying that he had discovered two problems that he hadn't realized when he placed the listing, one with the camera and one with the lens. He had refunded my payment and sent me the camera and lens anyway, adding that I should get it fixed and send him whatever payment I felt he deserved.
The problem with the lens was minor. The camera would not power up, but it was fixed inexpensively by a Konica repair guy. Broken contacts or something like that. I sent the seller the difference between my bid price and the repair cost, and I think we both left with a good feeling.

Thanks. I thought there might be more to it than that, because I think I've seen both on eBay, each bearing the Pentax name but one identified as "teleconverter" and the other as "rear converter". Maybe I'm thinking of another brand. Thanks for the help.

I understand what a tele converter is - it extends the range of the lens. I see references to a "rear converter". Is this a different thing and, if so, in what way? Thanks.
