Nice one. Not only is the mallard very attractive, but the water has some great colors showing through from the bottom.

This one is super sharp with great detail and colors! That is the rose that I would have wanted a bee to fly to as well. What a beauty.

Nice one. I like how the light radiates out from the center of the bloom, as well as the composition with the dots of green running off to the right.

Tony, thanks so much for your appreciation!
Thanks, Angky! I don't know about the skill part, but the tree, an old native black walnut right behind my house, provides an excellent prop for the birds. The tree is special because it survived the two-plus years of house construction without succumbing to the abuse that it took.

Fantastic series, rhanz! To me, these are the most beautiful duck species, and you captured them in their intimate moments.

I agree with Mike that both images are very good but present a different story. The first puts us into your perspective and shows us how you saw it. The second focuses strictly on the subject.

Excellent capture of the heron with its catch.
I have done this as well and it sometimes allows me to get very close. I also sometimes find a spot to sit and after a while they practically forget that I am there.

This is a terrific composition with the bloom and stem so nicely illuminated against the black background. A nice, minimalistic image.

A very interesting image. The insulators are certainly well attached after all those years and would never have come loose.

I really like the expressions you captured, just a bit annoyed or even a little bored. Terrific shot.
