Does anyone here have any experience with lenses which are good (or terrible) for IR photography?
I realise some lenses have 'hotspots' when doing IR photography that's not necessarily indicative of quality/price of lens (I gather my Canon 24 TS-E is often no good for it, despite possibly being the sharpest 24mm in existence and certainly one of the most expensive).
I'm in the market for one extra wide angle option for my last Pentax film body (ME super) for a few rolls of Aerochrome colour IR slide film, I currently have a Kiron 30-80 and a Pentax M50/1.7, so have put up a couple of 'wanted' listings in the marketplace forums here and searches on eBay - however I just remembered the IR lens compatibility issue!!
Anyone know of any more lists or ways to make an educated guess?! There are a few about and that seem to include Pentax lenses, but often not many of the older ones - I'm mainly searching for older, manual focus lenses for low cost options. My camera isnt AF and its not something I need often - just plugging a gap and though I dont want to buy a dog, I'm not that fussed about getting an immaculate lens that will do the job on digital as well - this is strictly a film thing.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Tamron AF 28-200mm F/3.8-5.6 XR Di Aspherical [IF] MACRO - FULL FRAME Asking Price
100.00 USD Item Location
Adelaide, SA (Australia) Item Description
Full Frame image circle and VERY lightweight superzoom.
Comes with original Tamron front & back caps, UV skylight filter and hood.
In really good condition, no scratches anywhere to glass or finish, my gear always looked after very very well. Very light weight, especially for this zoom-range and a bargain priced lens.
Was my walk-around zoom for years on my film Pentax in the late 1990s/early 2000s, very fast autofocus, very good IQ considering the age this was made before digital sensors.
$100 USD or $140 Australian Dollars - best offer.
Being sold as I have changed systems and have sold all my Pentax gear, lenses, DSLR etc, having sold many exceedingly well looked after DA* and FA ltd lenses through this forum to happy buyers.

Bump for price drop!
Very lightweight telephoto option - AND its FULL FRAME.
(And I say this comparing it to my 'light' Canon 70-300L which weighs nearly 3 times as much, despite being the lightest Canon L telephoto zoom out there!)
This comes with an aftermarket hood - for telephoto lenses its surprising that this model didnt come with one and review comments suggest that the contrast and clarity is definitely improved when using a hood (as expected)

Bump again for a tidy upgrade from the 18-55 kit, or as a great all-in-one holiday lens. PLUS
this one comes with a polarizing filter AND a protective filter included. :)

Hey thanks for pointing that out, I hadnt realised! (tbh I never really paid much attention to Sigma's naming codes but knew this one was FF while I used the 10-20 on my K7)
Thread title now been amended to suit - and confirming that it is still the full frame model (I used it on my old MZ-30 film camera too).
