Can anyone please tell me if Pentax lenses made in Vietnam are any good. Have been told that all Pentax lenses are made their now. Thanks.:confused:

Checked this out and yes they do look the same also cleaned it.
Emailed B&H and instantly they advised me to return it. So have posted it back and will wait patiently for a replacement.

Hi Peter,
I have put the AF on both the camera and lens but hasn't made any difference. On M on both camera & lens have not problems adjusting. Just AF on both camera & lens.
Have tried other lenses as well. no problem. Could it be a faulty lens. Had this sent out from B & H to Australia.

The auto-focus seems to be engaged it slides back and forth from AF- M both on lens and camera. Can adjust manually but on auto the shutter release button will just not move.
I also bought the DA 17-70SDM. and that works ok on Auto-Focus.
This is so disappointing was really looking forward to using it. I use manual most times but I do like to have the Auto-Focus working.
Any more suggestions? very frustrating I must say.

I have just received my new DA 300mm f/4 (IF) SDM Lens for my K20D. After attaching it I have found the AF doesn't work. Have to focus manually. What do I need to do to get the AF to work. My software is 1.03 I noticed in the manual the K10 needs software 1.30 for the AF to work.
All the reviews I have read are good on this lens but nothing mentions AF not working all state good AF on K20D.
Can someone put me in the right direction.

Pentax 100 -300. He was so far up wasn't sure how it would turn out and not a lot of them around never prepared for them. Thanks for the lovely comments.

This beautiful bird was gliding above our yacht all I had time to do was grab the camera and shoot with the lens I had on....He was so far up just a speck in the sky
