What memory card for a K-7?

Hi!

I need another SD-card for my Pentax K-7 and since SDXC now is supported I am considering a 64 Gb card. The firmware update however states that UHS-1 is not supported, but I read people are using Class 10 cards.

Looking at the Sandisk webpage there are two reasonable options for me:

Sandisk Ultra-SDXC 64 Gb 30 MB/s Class-10 UHS-1
Sandisk Ultra-SDXC 64 Gb 20 MB/s Class-6

The price for the cards is more or less identical, thus I would prefer the faster one. But only if it is working with my Pentax K-7...

Any one who knows for sure?

Thanks for your reply!

Testing the in-camera adjustment right now. The disadvantage is slow previews of the pictures, but it seems like the camera otherwise is just as quick (it only displays the last taken image).

If I understand it right you prefer making the lens adjustments afterwards since you take RAW-photos and might just as well do the correction there?

Hi! Another question from a beginner. Do you use the downloaded lens profiles even if you use the Pentax K-7 in-camera lens correction? Will that produce an even better result or will it "over adjust"?

Pentax P-TTL Flash Comparison

Thanks for a wonderful comparison! As a complete beginner I would appreciate som help in choosing a flash for my Pentax K-7.

My requirements are:

- As compatible as possible. Want the flash and camera to work smoothly together without too many adjustments. Took for granted that Pentax would be most compatible, but not sure anymore after reading your guide...

- Be able to use the flash in one hand and the camera in another.

- Move the flash head in most directions.

Questions:

1) I've been looking at the Pentax AF-540 FGZ, Metz 58 AF-2 and the Metz 50 AF-1 since they seem to meet my requirements. Do you agree?

2) The Metz 50 AF-1 seems to be good enough for me, but it lacks the "auto" function available on the other two flashes. Don't really understand if it is needed or not?!

3) Is it correctly understood that the Metz flashes (both 50 and 58) follow the settings on the camera, but the AF-540 works the other way around and changes the settings on the camera ("the flash is the boss"?). Seems pretty strange to me. Isn't easier to make the changes on the camera, and let the flash follow? Other Flash Modes - Pentax P-TTL Flash Comparison

Would appreciate some input!

Regards
Hoogey

thanks for a qreat answer. I did however write my questions to quick, and I actually ment the lens smc PENTAX-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED (Raw, Pentax K20D), obviously impossible for you to know ;-) This is not the wheather resistant version (WR). Is it also optical identical with the smc PENTAX-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED WR ?

Great forum! Some questions:

1) I suppose the smc PENTAX DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL is not the WR version? (have to keep your eyes open since many lenses have very similar names!). Could someone please confirm!

2) You often mention with which camera the profile has been made and the version of Lightroom Does this matter? Or do I just have to make sure it is the the right lens?

Regards, Hoogey
