Haven't posted in a while, I thought I'd share a photo and get some feedback. I just happen to have my camera on me while walking around on the Stanford campus. Usually there are a lot of people around, but just for split second, they were all behind the columns. Quickly dialed down the aperture, I was able to get this shot. Glad the DA* did not flare too badly and I think I'm okay with what's left in the frame. I'd probably remove the little one toward the bottom of the frame if I actually saw it while editing. ACK34616 by Andy C (AC), on Flickr

I have 15, 21, 35, 40xs, and 77. (I really should sell a couple of these...) I bought 20-40 because I often want weather sealing while traveling. 15, 20-40 plus 70 or 77 is great 3 lenses travel kit!

That's like saying Google has failed in Android because a person coming from iOS doesn't understand that Android works differently. Pentax AF-C isn't up to par, we get it; but it's more than adequate as oppose to completely useless like some people want to portrait it as. One has to learn the tool in hand. Even jumping between Canon and Nikon requires some adjustments why is it a requirement for Pentax to match everything to either one?

MX-1 wasn't a direct competition to Fuji X100 series. The price difference alone put them in different categories. It was a premium P&S (before RX100 came along) and cheaper alternative to Olympus' XZ-2 with Pentax touch.

This was my 2 weeks trip in Alaska this year. 2 weeks is a rush to cover so much ground but it's primarily for me to hit the key spots and figure out where I want to spend more time in the future trips. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z64oTzDsKJic.k6I16Ht9Hnu8&usp=sharing
We also did rental car and basically made a lap. There's beautiful scenery every where along the road. Many pictures I took and love are places people don't even mention along the roads. I think my favorite spots are the southern part of Alaska - Kenai Fjords National Park, Eagle Beach, Homer, Valdez, etc. You should be able to see Whales by taking one of the Kenai Fjords cruises/tours. I think we saw 3 humpbacks that day. Denali was good but the weather wasn't cooperating with us. Fairbank/North Pole was worth stopping by just to say I've been there. We did get lucky that they let us in to play with the reindeer at Santa's House, which isn't normally open to the public. Our Valdez->Whitter ferry was canceled so I can't comment on the ride.
My favorite place to stay on the list is Timber Bay B&B near Homer and Denali Fireside Cabins & Suites near Talkeetna. Princess lodges we stayed along the way are pretty nice. The places in the big cities are just cheapest I could find.
One tip: Don't do want I did - lock my car key in the trunk early in the morning when I was in a rush to go out to take some photos. The closest smith we could find was 3 hours away.

I updated 2 laptops and 2 desktops from Win7 to Win10 without a hitch - not even updating any driver.
I was totally expecting my Hackintosh desktop to blow up but I don't even have to fix the Mac partition like I used to with Win10.
My home theater pc, which has pretty complicated setup failed to update but it reverted to old version automatically so it's still completely functional.
I'm actually pretty impressed. If MS does what Apple does and stop supporting legacy stuff, it would be so much simpler to them. But kudos to them that they are able to cover good amount of ground...
Start menu replacement still works in Win10 so it's all good for me.

Awesome, I was able to open debug menu on K5 (v1.14 firmware) using
00077430.505 and DEVELOP.MOD
K5 II and II/s model numbers should be 77680, 77681 respectively but I don't have the cameras to figure out the right numbers.

Due to lack of separate AE and AF buttons, I would make it an AF only button and use exposure compensation. A bit more manual work but becomes second nature pretty quickly imo.

My guess is the components in DSLR are probably manufactured with older process compared to cell phones. So sizes are going to be larger and heat dissipation won't be as good. Sure they can probably throw in cell phone quality components in there but we'd have to pay more for it. This is probably an area where a traditional camera maker like Pentax have a bit of disadvantage compared to electronics/camera maker like Samsung/Sony.

I think there's a lot more buzz is due to the fact that it's new technology so there's a lot of room for improvement every single iteration. DSLR tech has matured so incremental improvements won't generate as much talk. I think they both will co-exist in the future with maybe a little bit tilt toward MILC at lower end market.

If you are on PC, Renamer is my favorite tool for doing massive batch renaming. ReNamer « Downloads « den4b.com
You probably can use the "Rearrange" rule (assuming your descriptions don't have the underscore characters). And tell it that split using "_" (without quotes), and new pattern should be $1_$3_$2 to swap the parts as you described.
Preview the new name on the right side of the bottom window make sure they look good before committing the change.
