I know of a guy over here in the UK that has just returned his fourth 16-85, me I tried the 16-50 and have just returned my third due to an issue between it and every KP in SrS's stock.
There do seem to be some problems even with the newer designs, you are not alone here 52mm...

It's on it's way back, I got SRS here in the UK to test their stock on the KP and they all do it!
So thats that then, so 16-85 or 20-40? All opinions are welcome.
I also have the 12-24 and the 50-135, so the Ltd would slot in nicely, however I've just picked up a bargain 21mm, which would immediately become superflous, so I'm leaning toward the 16-85 and picking up the cheaper green ring Ltd's as and when I can for a super lightweight and super quality kit for the mountain hikes,21mm F3.2/35mm or 40mm F2.8 (I don't macro!) and the 70mm F2.4,
these would pretty much replace the 16-50mm for lens speed...

All up there with the newest serials in the database.
Just don't know what to think, three duffers is stretching it a bit! Anyone tried this combo?

On my third one all from SrS in the UK.
All don't seem to wake up on first use, I have to focus n a near object then a far one a few times in order to make the lens focus. If I just oick it up and use it I get the flashing green square of blurryness, seems to be having trouble finding infinity off the bat so to speak. Similar to sleepy old SDM focus but all three have been bbrand new Ricoh UK stock. Anyone else having problems with this combo? My 50-135 Da* is unaffected.

Could not agree more with all of the above mikesbike, the KP might feel a bit clumsy for one handed shooters with an 16-50mm F2.8 zoom on (Like me!) but thats not how we are meant to shoot anyway, the way the three dials are offered up to the fingers, whilst holding the camera correctly (of course!), is brilliant/genius! It just makes the task of taking pictures so much easier, I have forgotten that it does not have an LCD on the top plate, now that I have realised how seldom I actually used it on my K3, the KP just gets on with the job and helps you to do the same...

I've emailed Sunwayfoto, Kirk and RRS and I have been informed that none of em intend to make a KP specific "L" Bracket, anyone know, anyone who might? I don't want something too generic that gets in the way of battery doors etc but something dedicated to the body, it's likely to be around for a while, even though it may comparitively sell less, maybe the Koreans???

I've done exactly the same and picked up the 16-50 F2.8 and the 50-135 F2.8 for 940 GBP for the pair, huge saving! SDM failure first time out on the 16-50 is another story though. If I had a K1, I'd pick the KP.

Anyone tried the ACMAXX one yet? ACMAXX 3.0" HARD LCD SCREEN ARMOR PROTECTOR for Pentax K-P KP 16018 16038 silver | eBay
The picture used in the listing is obviously not a KP!
Just wondering what it looks like and if it fits around the screen recess, and has the silver border, does it protrude too much so it might get knocked? I've had good luck with the ACMAXX ones in the past, my expert shield did not fit properly, and so it's gone back, so anybody got one to show???

Many thanks Adam! Thats what I get for assuming that they would muck about with the LCD size or frame a bit because it was a new camera, and nothing existing would fit. Ordered myself a couple of expert shields, so that should be that sorted then. ---------- Post added 04-09-2017 at 05:56 AM ----------
I've always liked the ACMAXX ones too, had em on both of my K3's, they've just started listing one on ebay (Online Fred) but the picture is not of the actual item, so I don't know if it will fit over the LCD frame or in the recess of the glass itself? Might be a problem if it has a silvered border?

@C_Jones
Does it twist about at all, concerend with that with a generic plate, without a lip for the camera base, will twist under load in vertical compositions with something like a 50-135mm on?
It looks like you lose access to the battery, is that correct?
Side access looks good though...

A bit more difficult in the UK as we just don't have return policies that are so customer friendly here, (Perhaps in law but not in reality) luckily Amazon UK seems very similar to it's US counterpart in this regard, so I'll have a look at whats on there first I think..

Might as well get this one rolling along, early days yet, I know. Contacted Sunwayfoto and Kirk I think it was but they arn't planning anything, from what they tell me, so is there anything out there on the horizon? Is there a long body plate that anyone knows about that when you attach it to camera actually doesn't shift under load, not an "L" bracket I know but it might do, any intel guys?
