I 2nd the observations from theunartist. I had both the A35-70 f/4 and A35-105 f/3.5 (paired with the good ol' *ist DS). The "105" is optically superior (and will challenge even modern zooms) but the weight of all that wonderful metal and glass caused me to take the "70" out more often than not. Eventually I sold the 105 because the 70 became my go-to lens, leaving the 105 unused most of the time.

I ended up selling the "70" as well because I moved on to the K-r which made manual focusing difficult for me (YMMV). Then I acquired the DA16-45 and DA55-300 autofocus lenses which are great but I soon started to miss manual focus lenses. So I sold the K-r, moved on to the K-5, and will most likely acquire the A35-105 (and A35-70 f/4) again LOL! :)
