I think what is causing the root smell is the resin stuck to the camera / strap ...
I would recommend using iso alcohol on the outside ... For the inside all you can do is mask the oder or let it air our ... and ozone air purifier may help but I hate the smell of ozone just as much as tobacco ... and will take a day or so to disperse as well.
Well that's how I keep my cam from not smelling like a skunk at family gatherings and from staying sticky ... lol

Thanks for clearing that up, I guess the SR couldn't have been the issue then as I always use the 2 sec camera setting and a tripod for my macros ...

I actually use mostly manual focus the problem is even at f11, the dof is low, but in the viewfinder / live view most is still in focus but when you take the shot only 1/10 is. Just snagged a Pentax SMCP-FA 50mm Macro f/2.8 off flea bay for cheap so stoked, was using a $35 sigma 28-80 on the macro setting before with the hoya close up lenses. Now I will have a close up MACRO prime :) , I'll try and do a few test shots with sr on and off and see if I see a difference.

When I'm shooting macro's on a tripod with a timer with x1 x2 x4 close up lenses should I be turning off the SR? I notice my my macro images don't seem as sharp as regular images ... but thought so far this was just and issue with dof.
here is a non work safe link to get an idea ... http://www.marijuanaresearch.org/cannaphotos/sdkief4.JPG |

I'm posting here even though I know better ...
Marijuana abuse vs use is just in the perception you have of the plant ... medical or recreational ... it is just a plant that has been around for thousands of years.
In the end it comes down to is that he was mentally ill, couldn't deal with the events in is life and thought the government was out to get him and others. This was his way of ending his life so he no longer had to deal with this reality, I'm just thankful he didn't kill anyone innocent ... It also sounds like he may have been irresponsible in his cannabis use (and most likely about to face time in NV). There are lots of cannabis users in California recreational and medicinal but most know they still should use it and grow it responsibly. Smoking and growing in a location that is not going to bother other citizens is a must. This mentally ill person thought that by being mentally ill it was a free pass for his actions ... and for him to abuse his MMJ rights if he was a patient.
In the end the whole situation is tragic as it sounds like he was getting help but it just wasn't enough ...
I have seen allot of mentally unstable people and in my experience cannabis tends to make them more stable than promote or make there symptoms of there mental illness worse. http://www.cannaphotos.com/sameoldshit.jpg :)

I'm looking at a used 100mm 2.8 macro pentax smcp-d lens it says;
"Glass is clean with no fungus or scratch. Might have some dust inside, which does not affect final photo. Body is clean. No visible deep scratch."
Does this sound right ... can the dust be cleaned out somehow via repair if it affectes image quality. Do allot of used lenses have dust inside them?

That is so cool you have gotten to see native cannabis / hemp plants ... these plants actually have the most medicinal value and have been shown to even fight cancers. The hybridized dutch plants have been bread to increased in THC and hybridized so that they have decreased in other cabinoids such as cbd that are very medicinal. I hope eventually to try and get some of these land race genetics, from Asia, and the middle east before they disappear or get watered down due to no one preserving the breeding lines and mixing ... and cross them to other special old plants I have ... most things I grow are clones from plants started in the early 90's and have been kindly gifted ...
Here are some shots of my favorite mystery plant from the early 90's the 2 macro's are done with the Pentax k-x with stock lens and aperture set to 8. she is just known as "the white"
I can't wait to get a macro lens ... about to make the plung ....

Thank you for the welcome, currently I am using a Pentax K-X for the shots above. When I first learned photography in High school 10 years ago, it was on a manual Pentax, then moved on to a 35mm Cannon ... I really like the Pentax K-X so far I plan on using it for the majority of my shots and if I have to as a last resort I can barrow my brothers Cannon 5d. The kit lens leaves allot to be desired for macro shots so I'm looking into a sigma 50mm macro lenses or the 17-70 sigma zoom w macro ... There is allot of medicinal need for cannabis and I hope some of my free ebook's and strain / Patient guides help those in need more .... I also hope it can help educate people in the world more about the medical qualities so people can appreciate the plant and it's beauty. It seems people only see the bad aspects such as criminal organizations growing for profit, Greedy Cannabis Clubs that most people see on the news and showtimes "weeds" TV show portrays. |

Hello,
I am currently the admin of cannnabiscurescancer.com a site that helps inform people of the medicinal aspects of cannabis and socially acceptable ways growing and medicating. I am also a MMJ Patient with a severe case of Rheumatoid Arthritis and grow my own meds in a house I own ... and donate any extra to cancer patients in need for free .... I am currently working on a few cannabis photo / info books for patients and thought this would be a great place to get help with some of my macro photography. I am a very non-judgmental person, when I see someone on the street or a drug abuser ... I wonder how that person got to where they are at, and try to help all people, and get the vibe that this site is the same. I always try to keep an open mind / opinion and make up my own conclusions.
Well enough of that .... lets go hit the beach ....
