Hi Ash
Thanks for your kind welcome, in fact I hardly dare mention the word here, but in fact we actually used N****n's for medical work, although when I first started we did use Pentax, but when we were given a large financial grant we decided to change the whole department over, as the Pentax, although brilliant cameras with superb lenses, there was a Nikon specially designed for Medical use, with a built in ring flash...but my interest on this forum is that we also used a Monobar, and I found this link on the Internet.
I hope I'm still allowed to be a member of your "Club" ?...Best wishes...Emrys
PS I'm writing an article about the Monobar at the moment.

Thanks Carl
I realise this is off topic, but I play Scrabble on Facebook, everyday, with an old school friend living in Melboure...Technology makes it a small World

Thanks for your post, I'm sure I'll gradually get the hang of it.
At the moment I'm writing a short resume of my use of the Monobar in Medical photography for Maurice Fisher, not sure if you know him, to use on his web site, also contacting Douglas McKee in Scotland who has offered to buy my Monobar.
As regards pictures, well I have a few which I use for a lecture I've given a few times on Medical photography, but I think it unwise to put them on a general forum for ethical and copyright reasons. But if you would like to contact me direct by e mail emrys@agas77.freeserve.co.uk
we could discuss things further.
I look forward to hearing from you...Emrys

I'm really impressed about the conversion, if you read my post today ( my first, I'm a new member ), you can see that I used a Monobar for many years in my professional career.
By the way how mich did you have to pay for the original camera ?

Hi Everyone
I've just today joined so am a bit new to this
I'm nearly 70 ( I hate to admit!!) and am a retired medical photographer, I spent nearly 30 years as Director of photography and TV at a major London Medical School. I am present writing a short article on the Monobar Camera, and came across your foum / site when surfing the net for the history of the camera. If you Google emrys.sparks you can read a couple of articles which I posted a few years ago.
I would love to hear from anyone who used the Monobar professionally, anyone who shares my interests, or may have been involved in medical photography or life sciences.
