Hi, I'm confused, I sent a PM several days ago with interest and it was never responded to, what gives?

I'm reposting this because this seemed to have been deleted in the wake of pussygate. Not sure why the original post warranted deletion simply because it incited Mike's overactive imagination.

And yes, that is a stuffed tampon mascot. Why my best-friend thought it made an amazing Christmas gift one year is beyond me, it's not like I partake in the sacred monthly ritual. It now hangs over my socks drawer.

Don't look at me, I got two spanks as well for my witty repartee.
Yet another reason for me to get on the K5 bandwagon. Can't wait for the test shots. It always baffled me that previous models weren't able to meter properly in Av mode when the green button worked so well. It seemed like a fairly easy problem to correct.

This is probably entirely antithetical to everything you stand for but I'm looking at it in terms of Ebay resell value.
A spotmatic F in working condition (good light seals + bumpers, fast mirror and an accurate meter) is fairly rare and could fetch a decent price on Ebay USA, $70-100 or so. Considering that a routine CLA of a Spotmatic runs ~$70 from Eric, the vast majority of Spotmatics from folk's attics/basements are practically worthless. I have about 20 Spotmatics sitting around my house, CLAing them would actually decrease their value.

Chill out, we're here to help one another.
Edit: Forgot to add, not great at reading in Chinese, so any help is appreciated. Don't jump so fast to assumptions of laziness. Doesn't reflect well.

Personally, I would not keep the M50/4 when I already have the A50/2.8. The A50 is markedly better and easier to use. An extra stop of light in macro mode helps with all the light fall off even at 1:2 mag.
They're your lens of course, you just might sell it for that price.

The hood itself is worth about $20 on Ebay. The SMC 35/3.5 is about $80-120 if listed correctly and in mint condition. The rest are fairly worthless but the profit is certainly there.

So you're basically throwing out numbers with absolutely nothing to back it up and then getting into a hissy fit when someone says otherwise?

Try not to take everything on the internet so personally. In no way was I trying to call you a liar. Take a deep breath or two and see if that'll help with your blood pressure.
A link to said shop for the Sigma 70-200 for $484 would be very nice, otherwise, you're kind of doing the same thing you're bashing me for doing, no?

The only times this will have a noticeable effect is shooting at night. Out of focus light sources will have a slightly irregular hexagonal shape at f8. At f8, it'll be hard to find any out of focus areas actually. I wouldn't bother fixing this, it's not going to affect the sharpness or usage.

Even if I'm completely wrong, there's no need to be ill mannered.
My info is based on friends and family members who have frequently asked me to bring back lenses for them. There's a chance they're terrible at finding lenses at good prices but I seriously doubt that they're off by that much.
I also sell quite a bit of camera equipment on Ebay, so I'm quite familiar with the customs issues in China. I've never had any issues sending lenses, only cameras. USPS has explicitly stated that they will not ship any cameras to the PRC. An acquaintance of mine who runs a vintage cameras club in Shanghai has repeatedly complained to me about the ridiculous rates customs has asked for cameras. He even mentioned a few times that he just "slipped" them some money. I don't see any reason why he'd lie to me about this.
I'm sure you know so much more than I do about this since you're actually living there. Good for you. My uncle-in-law has been bugging me to bring him back the newest version of the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 for the Canon EOS mount. The best I can find it at is about $700 with full warranty. If you can find it for that price and provide me a link, I'd appreciate it, it'd save me the hassles of having to ship it back to him. Thanks!

More than likely the Nikon user was speaking about the K-mount Takumars and rightfully so. Only the dimmest of idiots would ever besmirch the good name of screwmount Takumars.

That's funny. My friends in China are all asking me to buy lenses/cameras for them in the US to bring back to China. The prices in China are fairly terrible, probably on par with the prices in Australia. The Sigma 10-20mm and the 80-200mm 2.8 all cost about $300-400 more, I can't imagine the Pentax lenses being much better.
The customs in China are also pretty bad. Cameras are blocked and it often comes down to bribes and other "incentives" to bring them through. USPS will not ship any cameras to Chinese destinations.

The M50 will go for about $100-120, while the A50/2.8 should go for about $200-230. I wouldn't bother with the M50 considering it's pedestrian. The A50/2.8 is an excellent lens.
Don't forget Ebay takes about 9% in fees while PP takes about another 4% or so in payment.

Duncsuss is correct. The Elicar and Panagor 90mm macro lenses are NOT made by Kiron. It is made by Komine. There's no argument there, every authoritative source agrees on this.
Furthermore, there's quite a difference in sharpness and price between the Kiron/Komine versions....

It is visible. You will have to shift your eyes of course. When you see the numbers, you will not be able to see the top of the viewfinder. It's a fair tradeoff.
