sorry this is too late for replying to your question here ...

i haven't read all answers, so forgive me if this is going to be a repeat!

anyways, this happened to me yesterday after updating the firmware of my K-7 and after that, images couldn't be enlarged in-camera ...

at first i thought maybe it was because of a silly mistake i made myself when updated the camera with the Mac version of the .exe file! (OOPS!) but i was just so lucky the camera didn't turn into a paperweight and worked perfectly well actually ... so, i updated it 'back' to the correct Windows version ... and it worked just fine again but the problem still persisted and i kept getting the message "This image cannot be enlarged" again on all images in the card ...

searched around and found this thread where at least one of the answers by someone regarding he 'couldn't enlarge images taken using his 645D when the card containing them he put inside a K-5' solved my problem too!

here's my mistake: i was so sheepishly trying to watch the images i took with my K-5 inside the K-7 and since the latter has a 14MP sensor vs the former's 16MP, it is perfectly natural for the K-7 to be unable to enlarge the shots even though it can show them anyway ...

so, you must have put the 'wrong' memory card into your K-5 ... check it out again ...

ps: i'm guessing it's also quite possible for the K-5 to enlarge the lower resolution images taken with a K-7 ... will have to test that someday soon! :-)

How to update firmware in K10D?

hi all

i may sound too outdated perhaps having got myself a perfectly clean like-new K10D only a few days ago ...

but that's another story! :-)

now, this is a question i have here, not a reply actually, so, i hope i'm not doing anything wrong!?

anyhoot, my K10D has firmware 1.00 on it ...

now, i want to upgrade to the latest / last firmware 1.31 ...

the instruction says,

"
5. "NOW LOADING" appears in the LCD monitor, and will change to the
"PROGRAM UPDATE". At the bottom of the LCD monitor,

CURRENT VERSION 1.00 / 1.10 / 1.11 / 1.20 / 1.30
UPDATE VERSION 1.31

will be displayed.
"

but after seeing the above, especially line 3, i am wondering, do i have to have upgraded to the previous upgrades already before going to the last one, ie, 1.31, or can i simply jump from 1.00 to 1.31 without harming the camera!

also, please note: the Ricoh/Pentax site provides only the 1.31 firmware upgrade! so, if i need to upgrade step by step from 1.00 to 1.10 to 1.11 and so on and then upgrade to 1.31, where can i find the previous upgrades?

of course, i'm thinking the jump is ok because latest upgrades should cover all the previous ones anyway, right?
