I guess I am not sure at the moment, but I know a couple weeks ago, B and H had the K-x 18-55/55-300 kit on sale for 650. About 50 dollars less than the normal price.

After researching and searching for a while, I bought my K-x from B&H photo/video. They had the best prices that I could find online, and had excellent customer service. The first one I received, had a defect in it and freaked out when I tried updating the firmware. They were helpful in getting it replaced for me, and went out of their way to get it done as quickly as possible. I highly recommend them.

I can't tell you whether or not the style you ordered is what you want, but I can assure you that you did get the right sizes. the 18-55 is a 52mm and the 55-300 is a 58mm.

Personally, I use the sunshades that can be bought just about anywhere. Also, the shade portion can pop off, and you still have a screen protector still on the camera. Very nice to have when shooting on sunny days.

I got to agree with Nature. As a very green photographer, I found that "Understanding Exposure" is an excellent book to help you understand basics. And many pictures to go along with each section to illustrate the points. Well worth the money.

I am new to photography, and am interested in trying out this HDR that I have read a lot about. I realize that it is a lot of post-processing, but the coloring that it adds to pictures I think can be very neat looking in the right setting.
Anyway, I have searched the forums and google, but am having trouble finding a tutorial/beginner's guide out there directed at people very new to photography. Any help you guys have is greatly appreciated.
What I have:
Pentax K-x with kit 18-55 and 55-300
Lightroom 2
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys.
I am a new photographer, and the K-x is my first real Dslr.
I have seen posts about some really nice panorama shots, and only some of them describe as being pieced together with Photoshop. I am not very saavy with PS yet, and I am wondering if the K-x has setting internally to be able to create amazing panoramic photos or not.
Thanks for any help!!

Also, did you format the SD card on your computer before writing the patch file to it?

agreed.
I use the Energizer Advanced Lithiums (same as the ones it ships with) and I have no problems.
Also, having the latest firmware is a must to get away from the issues with battery power.
