From what I've read about the Eye-Fi cards, I know that having one would be a tremendous help to me in a number of ways. One huge benefit would be in documenting hobbies. My husband and I have many hobbies, which include: beer making, automotive customizing, furniture restoration, sewing, gardening and just "makin' stuff." We like to document our various projects with photos and video to provide reference materials to others who want to work on similar projects. (And sometimes show folks what you shouldn't do!) It would be great to be able to upload materials as we go and have only to select the shots we want when we're ready to share what we've learned--letting us concentrate on the project while it's fresh in our minds instead of being delayed by fetching the images.

This should be under Lens Accessories: Other, but I was unable to select that category when adding the item.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've requested a copy of Volume 1 on interlibrary loan to get started. Since I have two camera bodies, I have no qualms about trying a bit of fixerupping.

That sounds an awful lot like an issue I have with one of my Spotmatic bodies. I ended up having to get another on ebay...still have the first one though. Does any of this sound like your problem?

The trouble started after my brother used the camera. Apparently, the film wasn't advancing smoothly and he forced the lever. (It was Dad's camera at the time, otherwise there would have been vengeance.) Now, the film only advances a partial frame per exposure so the only way to use it is to cover the lens and click+advance several times. The amount of slippage is not consistent. So sometimes it will advance a full frame, sometimes a half, sometimes less.

I've been a happy user of Pentax since I was a kid when my Dad let me use his Spotmatic if I promised to be very careful with it.

I have my Dad's camera (which he let me have for college photo courses), an extra Spotmatic donor body and a PZ-20 with which I have been very happy.

Digitally, I've been fooling around with a point 'n shoot Panasonic Lumix (A nice little camera!) but have wanted a Pentax DSLR so I can use my many lenses and accessories. Since I had a little windfall recently, I took the plunge and bought a Pentax K-x a couple weeks back. I thought about the K-7, but the windfall wasn't that big! :D

Since that time I've had many questions and keep winding up here when I do a 'net search for answers. So I figured it was only polite to join in and introduce myself.

To give you a clue about how much of a geek I am I can tell you this:
On a recent episode of a TV show, one character brought out his tripod-mounted camera to take a group picture using a self-timer. I was in the kitchen at the time, but HAD to pop into the living room to confirm that yes, the distinctive timer buzz WAS from a Spotmatic. :o
