Yes, you don't. :D Coatings are important on every air-to-glass surface, not only for physical protection (scratch, dust, water, grease, which is important for front and, to lesser degree, rear elements), but to reduce flares and improve light transmission. Best coatings have losses of 0.2-0.3 % of light for straight beams in the middle of the visible spectrum. Without coatings, losses increase more or less by an order of magnitude.

That's a useful semantic distinction, even though it's clear pathdoc is using "era" in the sense you're using "hey day".
[/quote]
If we want to go into semantic, we only have to give a look at a dictionary. It's quite clear that "era" isn't defined by the dissaperance of something. It's rather define as the period of time when this something was prominent or distinctive of the period.
Collins: Brit: a period of time considered as being of a distinctive character; US: a period of time considered in terms of noteworthy and characteristic events, developments, individuals, etc.
Merriam-Webster: a period identified by some prominent figure or characteristic feature So, the end of the "film era" will not be when film photography totally dissapear from the surface of the earth. It rather was when film ceased to be the prominent media for taking pictures. Which happened, as discussed above, by 2006 or even slightly sooner depending on which criteria you used. No matter what, it's quite clear that in 2017 we're no longer in the film era. Even if some people are still using film, it's not prominent, distinctive or characteristic of photography today.

So, looking at your source material, that states that, if you were to spend a thousand hours per year looking through your camera lens (that's 2.73 hours per day, every day of the year, or, 19.23 hours per week) you would be exposed to a total of 0.2 mSv/yr. That is the equivalent of about 5 or 6 intercontinental flights a year or 2 chest x-rays. One CT-scan is 20mSv, so you'd have to look through your lens for 10,000 hours (There's 8,760 hours in a year) to get the equivalent exposure as to one CT-scan.
If you were a normal user, and lets assume you have 5 or more lenses, one of which is radioactive, and lets assume you're not a commercial video camera operator, then lets assume you may spend, at most, 2 hours a day looking through your various lenses. Possibly therefore, you may look through your radioactive lens 0.4 hours per day. (24 minutes) That would give you 0.03 mSv/yr which is the same radiation you would receive if you flew from Seattle to Portland (a 55 minute flight) roughly 100 times a year.
Your normal background radiation exposure, in the USA, averages 6.24 mSv per year. If you use your lens for 24 minutes every day, your annual exposure would increase by about 0.5%.
Put another way: If you have granite benches in your kitchen, your annual exposure will be somewhere between 0.005 to 0.18 mSv depending on the type of granite, if you spend 4 hours a day in the Kitchen. It could be argued that going outside and taking photos will be safer for you than spending time in your kitchen.
While there may be a risk, the risk is infinitesimally small and most certainly not "substantial". :)

Don't worry, those studying the surveys are the managers. They're now busy with surveys, thus unable to pester working people with endless meetings.
I expect a significant boost in productivity.

Bill and his wife Blanche went to the state fair every year,
And every year Bill would say,
" Blanche, I'd like to ride in that helicopter "
Blanche always replied,
" I know, Bill, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks,
And fifty bucks is fifty bucks! "
One year Bill and Blanche went to the fair, and Bill said,
" Blanche, I'm 75 years old.
If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance "
To this, Blanche replied,
" Bill that helicopter ride is fifty bucks, and fifty bucks is fifty bucks "
The pilot overheard the couple and said,
" Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny!
But if you say one word it's fifty dollars. "
Bill and Blanche agreed and up they went.
The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard.
He did his daredevil tricks,
But still not a word...
When they landed, the pilot turned to Bill and said,
" By golly , I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't.
I'm impressed! "
Bill replied,
" Well, to tell you the truth
I almost said something when Blanche fell out,
But you know,
Fifty bucks is fifty bucks! "

Two photographers are in the men’s room at the urinal. One guy is a Canonian and the other a Nikonian.
The Nikon guy finishes his business first. He simply zips his fly and heads for the door.
As he was leaving, the Canon guy turns his head towards him and says “ Excuse me, Canon photographers wash our hands when we are finished urinating.”
The Nikon guy says ” I understand, but us Nikon guys don’t pee on our hands.”
Top ten reasons to date a photographer:- They work well in the dark
- They’re used to funny smells
- They make things develop
- They work well on many settings
- They know how to focus
- They can make big things look small and small things look big
- They work well from many different angles
- They zoom in and out. And in and out and in and out and in and out…
- They shoot in many different locations
- They can find the beauty in anything
St Peter and Lucifer were at the gates admiring the clouds when the subject got onto photography.
They couldn’t agree on whether Heaven or Hell had the best photographers, so they decided to arrange a photo contest.
St Peter rubbed his hands with glee and Lucifer demanded to know why he was looking so smug.
“ Well,” said St Peter, “in Heaven we have all the best photographers.”
Lucifer slowly raised his head, grinned and replied “Ah, but we have all the judges…”

A man on his Harley was riding along a The Great Ocean Road, south of Melbourne when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, God said, "Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."
The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to King Island and from there to Tasmania so I can ride over anytime I want."
God replied, "Your request is materialistic; think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of Bass Strait and the concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind."
The biker thought about it for a bit. Finally, he said, "God, I wish that I, and all men, could understand women. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and how I can make a woman truly happy."
God replied: "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"
