Hand held street photographers need not apply. There goes my chance at giving it a go.
That is a great read, some interesting work going on in Chile.
Thanks Kaseki

This almost sounds like an addict looking for the next hit. not that I blame you. I love my K1, but am also hanging out for the faster frame rate etc that is available on the K3, If there is a queue outside Kennedys don't stand in my way.
On a more serious note my nephew works in a camera retailer (a bricks and mortar shop) And they would be able to sell the Ricoh GR3 by the ton if they could get a hold of it.

I went to watch my daughter play indoor (field) hockey. really poor lighting. ISO high, speed too low for spor,t and aperture nearly fully open. Only 2 other cameras in sight both Canons one hobbyist and one professional.
Otherwise it was all Mobile phones, and not many of these came out.

I do take my Pentax in the rain. I have been asked before when taking photos at Hockey if I should be out in the rain. More than happy to let it get the gear a bit drenched.

I've been really lucky to be able to take a holiday for 10 weeks. Not a single Pentax did I see. I was in some of the most Picturesque spots.
I can understand Christmas Island and Cocos Islands most people (tourists) would be there for diving and Fishing.
Perth concentrating on the hockey tournament I was playing in, a handful of Canons and Nikons. The official Photographer was a Canon man I seem to recall.
Esperence Western Australia Spoke to 1 Nikon user.
Eyre Peninsular South Australia. 2 Canons at the local races in Port Lincoln. The odd Canon or Nikon here or there, not many though.
Kangaroo Island South Australia. Lots of Canons, Nikons, Heaps of mirrorless, One lone Fuji owner from Scotland. I had a nice chat with a Canon user who wasn't toting his camera at the time.
It is a bit like with the shrinking of the number of DSLR users anyone who is carrying one is now a brotherhood member.

I wonder if this is due in part to the nature of the lens in the phone. As it is so wide and people are looking through the phone they are getting closer and this has become the normal.
Just a thought.

The Gang Gang Cockatoos (Male with red head) were feasting on Hawthorn Berries next to a level crossing I was working on in Woodend Victoria. The Western Barn owl was a visitor to my inner suburban Back yard in Bendigo. Unfortunately Magpies and Ravens chased the owl off.

Thanks for that.

Both of these Australian Magpies look to be around the same age due to the color of the feathers on the chest. I saw the whiter of the 2 whilst at work near Bendigo Victoria and have been on the lookout for the last couple of months to get a chance to photograph him. A quick search on the net seemed to say it is a genetic abnormality of some sort. He is part of a family group and does all the normal Magpie things.

I have started taking photos in RAW format DNG and have noticed that when I convert to jpg for the forums I start to get a rainbow type effect. this is probably not the best of the photos but the least effected by the processing. A sunny day maybe?

The dampening on the right is due to shooting through long grass.
Any insights?
