AFAICT, in the case of Pentax at least, flash protocols weren't licensed but reverse engineered.

Yep, or shoot Raw+Jpeg. The Raw will be displayed in LR without the gold but the Jpeg will.
I think the only software keeping the settings applied to the raw is the Pentax one (the one most people hate).

They'd still need to adapt the prism IMO, maybe the mirror (don't think so).

8x10 colour transparent?
Even surprised it can still be found.
At the time si didn't realize it but I once got from Pentax Belgium a promotional 4x5 transparent. It was a shot of MZ-7 I think.
It was quite wow !

Well, I wouldn't mind Ricoh working with Ilford tuning custom modes for film 'emulation'. Or Kodak or both.
A Tri-X profile would suit me just fine :)

A lot here (understandably) say Ricoh can't get lenses fast enough. And they should add a new range of MF lenses on top ?

Because manufacturers and Nikon I particular are very vocal when the designed a sensor (Nikon made the D3 sensor afaik) or even customized it a bit (Pentax and K1).
If Nikon says nothing, I'd be VERY surprised they 'd be involved in Z9 sensor and they'd keep their mouth shut.

61MP is also easier for marketing (you know, high numbers) and seriously helps for those using crop on the K1.

Let's not get in a situation where APS is for people how don't care about quality and FF is only for DFA* guys.
Superzoom are useful for FF guys too. Just rebadge a Tammy or get us an OK DFA 28-200 (more mm is better of course).
It's good enough.
I too prefer primes but with two little kids, I just can't most of the time.

Definitely. My intentions and expected results are not the same at all when shooting with 35mm or when shooting 4x5.
I tend to use grain when shooting small format and avoid it when shooting 4x5 but then again, I wouldn't shoot the same subject.

Maybe it is time license (in this case it'd be smart IMO) a Tammy around 28-300 for full frame. I'd be Interested.

Which is why I would have rather liked the HD FA 50/1.7. Sharper wide open although less creamy bokeh.
AF 50/1.7 are hard to find. 1.4 version are so common it is almost annoying.

I doubt it unless you're thinking about a DFA* which would be used on film if the (maybe) upcoming film SLR allows it to.
Otherwise, just a rebadged F or FA upgraded to HD.
