Just in time for my 30th birthday! This might be my only present, the wife and I have been struggling financially since having our baby daughter, I am not in contact with my family (I was raised in the foster care system), and my wife's parents are going though a divorce.
Still, seeing my beautiful daughter everyday is greater than any gift I could ever receive, and brings me great joy. Ever since I was eight I wanted to be a father and give my child the childhood I never had, and I receive tremendous satisfaction and happiness from realizing my lifelong ambition.

Don't agree to it! Lens sellers from Japan are notorious for doing this. Contact Paypal and demand a full refund.

Auto Chinon 50mm f/1.9

Somehow my original post got deleted, but here it is:

The 50mm Auto Chinon F 1.9 was my favorite lens until I compared it to a SMC Pentax M 50mm F2 that I had acquired. During my testing the Pentax had better contrast and sharpness. The SMC Pentax M 50mm F2 is probably the most common k mount lens out there, and it is also one of the cheapest. I bet that you could find one for cheaper than the Chinon, but if you can't the Chinon is still a good lens.

k 7 fluorescent lamp flickring problems

Flickering is an inherent problem with consumer fluorescent lighting (low hertz.) It would show on any camera. There are professional solutions (such as Kino Flo,) however you would have to replace the lighting fixture as well, because the problem is in the ballast.

There are only two rings on it, the focusing ring, and the aperture ring. There are no buttons or switches. The lens aperture works perfectly normally both off of the camera, and on the k1000.

I understand, however when I set the aperture ring to f16 there is no difference at all to being wide open, whether the optical preview, green button, or final picture (with the same shutter, iso, ect.) By the way, yes the lens is manual, I was just putting down the exact model in the off chance that there was a problem with that particular lens.

Hey there, I tried everything listed on the blog, and for some reason when I put my camera into the optical preview mode the aperture stays wide open. I also followed the instructions on the Pentax support site (http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache:gdDSCIdzaJUJ:support.pentaximaging.com/d...&ct=clnk&gl=us) and I still get no results with either the optical preview, or the green button. The lens that I am using is a "HANIMEX LENS 1:2.8 HMC f=28 mm 120120" that I procured from my k1000. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
