Damn Brit, thank you for your critique. I like how your crop idea makes me pay more attention to the 'action', and especially the dark doorway.
I was worried that the triangle of darkness would be a bit distracting, and it is, but the benefits outweigh.

Hi, I'm a complete newbie and have owned the K10D with its kit lens for about a year now. This photo is from a trip to India. It is post-processed in Lightroom, and I fear I have been very ham-fisted about it.
I shot through a mesh screen, as you can tell, and was crouched a little mostly because I was afraid of disturbing the good gent.
What would you do differently?
