I just purchased a K-5 about a month ago but decided that Pentax isn't for me. I'm just trying to get what I paid for it. All are in great condition.

K-5 - $old. It's in great condition. However, there's a tiny crack on the screen protector, not the screen. Also, there's a small scuff on the bottom underside that you wouldn't normally notice unless you shoot with the camera above you. Other than those two small things, everything is great. You can always take off the screen protector if it bothers you.

31mm ltd MIJ - $old Great lens. I will miss the bokeh for sure. It comes with a marumi filter. The person I bought it from did not have the box or pouch.

77mm ltd MIJ - $old Another great lens. It is in excellent condition. I just got it but with my decision of switching, I won't need this lens. It comes with box and pouch.

All prices are paypal gift. If you want to use regular paypal, please add 3%.

I don't have good pictures of the K-5 since it is my only camera.

For those who have both the 31mm and 43mm, which situations are you using the 31mm and which situations do you pull out the 43mm?

Yeah. Actually when I had my K-x, i used the 43mm on it for a couple days and it was awesome. If the 31mm can satisfy my LBA, then i might skip over the 43mm.

I've decided to come back to pentax after going from k-x to D7000 and now to the K-5. There's nothing wrong with the D7000 but I just wanted something a little more compact and to be able to get awesome primes without paying 1500ish for a used 35mm or 24mm. Anyway, I was just posting to get some feedback on which lens would be a good next step.

I purchased the K-5 with a 31mm so I feel like i'm pretty set for now. I was planning on getting the 43mm, 77mm and 21mm later on but the real question is which one should come next. I thinking of the 21mm in last place since I usually like shooting tele more than wide and 21mm is only for certain occasions such as group shots or landscapes.

So it comes down to 43mm or 77mm. I used to shoot with the sigma 85mm a lot and that became my fav lens. However, I'm not sure how often I will be in a situation to be shooting that far away now that I have graduated from college and do not go to as many events. So would it be silly to get the 43mm next just to change it up a bit whenever I don't feel like using the 31mm? I think it's also a little easier to justify the 43mm since it's a bit cheaper. Let me know what you guys think.

Item for Sale
Navy K-x kit + 12 eneloops + Charger

Asking Price
370 + pp fees

Item Location
Austin, TX

Item Description
Selling my K-x due to financial reasons. I bought it back in March. I have been using it recently but need to sell it in order to fund more important matters. The shutter count is under 7100. http://www.myshuttercount.com/Query?p=7eb867b1426411ed

It comes with the kit lens, the box, the body, 12 AA eneloop batteries and charger (worth 40 bucks new, just bought it a month ago so still very new), the pentax strap, and i think the manual. I'm not quite sure since I need to go pick up the box but hopefully the manual isn't a big deal since it can be found online.

Sorry for the bad pics but I can't take a picture of the K-x with the K-x.

The quickest I will be able to ship the camera will be Tuesday. If I am unable to sell it by next thursday night, then I can only ship it after the new year.

Here are recent pictures taken with the k-x

Need Help! Sigma front focusing.

So I've used my FA43 for a few days and it came to my attention that it has been back focusing a bit. Now considering that the Sigma was front focusing, would it be possible that BOTH lenses are bad or that the K-x is a bad copy. I'm not sure whether or not anybody has any problems with this since you can just adjust in the debug mode. However, it's strange to me that I have this issue for two (expensive) lenses. I guess there's always the possibility but should I send the K-x for repairs? It's definitely more noticeable when using larger apertures.

Have you had any experiences with the Tamrom 28-75? I really like the 24-70 range but I guess 28-75 can't be too bad. I'm just concerned that the Tamron won't be as nice of a lens as the Sigma. I know it's much cheaper but the Sigma HSM felt like a solid competitor. I was also thinking of wider zooms like the 17-50's or DA 16-50. Anybody have experiences with all/most of the lenses?

If you can show me a HSM version for 300 then i'll take it now. A new one is 900 and considering it's a very new lens, I don't think there will be that many floating around in the marketplace. I was thinking of the tamron but I wasn't sure if it would be as quiet or as fast focusing.

Need Help! Sigma front focusing.

So I've determined that my Sigma 24-70 HSM definitely front focuses which makes me really sad since I only got it for 630 compared to 900 new. I bought it from the Amazon Warehouse Deals so Amazon is unwilling to replace it with their stock.

Here are my options:

1. Return it for a full refund.
2. Keep it but I'll always have to adjust for it whenever I put the lens on. (won't have that problem if I get a k-5 later on though).
3. Try to send it to Sigma to fix it. Only problem with sending it to Sigma is that I don't have the warranty card, but I was able to register for the 4 year warranty.

Any opinions?

You know that the 18-250mm came out in 07 and has been discontinued. So a NEW one is very uncommon. So if you can find a new one for 400 then give me the link and i'll shut up. I was just taking how much I paid for it and the other lenses that sold recently into account and feel that what I had listed was reasonable.

How does warranty matter? I bought it USED a coupe months ago. So are you saying if the warranty ended it would matter? I agree it would but we have no idea how long is left so I'm assuming that there is no warranty. I totally understand that I will lose money if I bought the lens NEW but it bought it USED. I'm just trying to prove it's not necessarily price.

Not necessarily. Unless the lens is much worse than the "used" condition it had been previously, it should go for the same if not close to what it was used before. I purchased the 18-250 for 345 in the summer. I don't believe that it being used for a couple more months from someone else really causes it to drop by more than 50 bucks. Please tell me how the same condition of a used lens loses its value so quickly.

Why K-x + DA40mm and not K-x with FA 43mm?
Posted By driftingbunnies
Replies: 23

The DA40 was definitely fast especially since there really isn't that much you need to travel in order to focus. However, it seems as the majority of the people who owned/own both the FA43 and DA40, it seems as if the FA43 produces more interesting and pleasing pictures. Obviously some people will prefer the DA40 but the majority will say that the FA43 is very very good. I fell into the trap of buying the DA40 expecting it to be awesome and later finding out that I should have just saved the money for a FA43. I guess it depends on how you value your hobby/job as a photographer. If you feel that you will continue on in the next couple of years, I feel that investing in the FA43 is more beneficial than buying cheaper lenses to hold you off from buying it later.

Why K-x + DA40mm and not K-x with FA 43mm?

I've always seen suggestions that point new K-x owners to purchase the DA40 just because it would be a lightweight package. I personally just sold mine in order to get a FA43. I think the ISO quality of the K-x is good but it's not breathtaking. Compared to my Sigma 24-70 (which weighs like a ton), the DA40 makes the system feel too light at times and I'm surprised by how much the camera moves. I'm not sure exactly how the FA43 will compare but it seems a bit premature to me to always recommend the DA40 as a first pick when suggesting primes.

Good luck. The "true" pentax lens is exactly the same as the tamron if you've done your research. Tamron produced them for pentax. Also, the pentax sale looked like a "I don't care how much I get just get it away from me" price. I can't believe a box and instructions make that big of a difference...who even looks at the instructions anymore?

I think it depends on what type of lens you're selling. My Tamron 18-250 is not getting any interest while my DA40 was sold the same day. I don't understand...how much should a 18-250 go for? I thought someone just sold one for 325.

Item Description
I'm pretty sure I don't need to introduce this lens. Purchased it in March of this year so it's still pretty new. The lens has been great but I've decided I want to purchase different lenses. Please email if you have any questions. I will include a lens cap so you won't have to unscrew it every time you use it.

Edit: it looks like there might be a scratch or something on the inside of the hood but that's just how the light hit it. There are no apparent scratches on the outside.

No box but includes leather pouch, original hood, and lens caps.
