Thanks guys

My aim in buying the K100D was to have a P30n in digital form, so it looks as though when I want to use the flash I treat the camera/ flash combination exactly as if it were my trusty old P30n.

Does anyone know if this is a suitable combination? If so what setting would you use on the flash & camera.

The instruction book for the AF280T pre-dates the camera, and the instruction book for the camera only refers to the AF540/360 FGZ, so I'm struggling a bit [well quite a lot actually!]

When using the 280T with a P30n you have to set the ASA film speed. Since the K100D doesn't have a film, what setting do you use on the flash?

I've ben using an Optio for several years as an easily portable convenience camera, and i've now decided it's time for my trusty old P30n to go into retirement.

I have a choice between a K100D or an istDL - which should I go for. The 100d is marginally cheaper, but price isn't an issue.
