I'm very happy with my Gitzo 3530LSV. I use it with the Arca-Swiss B1 ball head or the Wimberley wh-200 gimbal head.

Thanks fs999, Tuco and lbenac. Luc: the pictures are 13-15 years old, now I use the Canon EOS 1DsII and the 7D+ 500mm f4 L IS for fauna photography. When I have the funds I will shot again the 600mm with the Pentax 645D. For now, I can use all my Pentax 645 lenses on my Canon cameras with the Mirex tilt and shift adapter.

Two more pictures with the 645n and the 600mm f5.6:

Best adaptor for 67 lenses on EOS bodies?

You're welcome. I'm also interested in this kind of adapter. There exist the Zörk (Zoerk) Pro Shift Adapter, ProSA-P67, for Pentax 645 camera-P67 lenses but only with shift (20mm) and no tilt. I think it is no longer being made and the last price I see was 900 US$.

Maybe the best but not exactly the cheapest option is: original 6x7 to 645 adapter+ Mirex P645 to Canon EOS

Scheimpflug, anti-Scheimpflug, PC and perfect stitching with all your 67 lenses.

FA 150f2.8 on 645d...anyone try?

1. and 2. Maybe you don't have seen my 645D "equivalent" lenses table. I have posted the table here (april 2010) and in this thread.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78820&d=1293059317

As you can see there is a 35mmFF "equivalent" focal length for the horizontal, vertical and diagonal ratio.

Note also that I say in my post "same" "equivalent" (not same and equivalent) and "MORE OR LESS".

"Personnaly, I gave up on making knowledgable calculations of equivalence etc... What is important is knowing what you can get from your equipment and knowing what equipement your need for the result you want to achieve."

I agree. Because that I have used on film these formats:

35mm (Canon, Olympus)
35mm panoramic (Noblex)
4.5x6cm (Fuji and Pentax)
6x6 (Rolleiflex)
6x7 (Mamiya)
6x9 (Cambo)
5x12 panoramic (Noblex)
9x12 and 4x5" (Linhof, Arca-Swiss)
13x18 (Arca-Swiss)
8x10" (Arca-Swiss)

Now, on digital, I use 3 formats:
4/3 Olympus
APS-C Canon
35FF Canon
And Maybe 33x44mm Pentax in the near future...

"and knowing what equipement your need for the result you want to achieve."

One example:

Linhof Technika V, Nikkor T-ED 500/11, Sinar panorama 6x12 back, Fuji Velvia:

FA 150f2.8 on 645d...anyone try?

Digitalis, think about how big the front element of an 117mm/f1.1 lens will be. It is very evident, even without maths that the hipothetic 117mm/f1.1 on a 35FF camera is not "equivalent" (DOF) at the 150mm/f2.8 lens on the 645 or the 645D.

If you want to make the "same" photo (equivalent FOV and DOF) with the 645D and the 150/2.8 and a 35mmFF camera (the Canon 1DsII for example) you need this lens: 150mm/ crop factor 645D-35mmFF (1.27)= 118mm (more or less!) and the equivalent DOF: 2.8/crop factor (1.27)= 2.2

Sorry for my very poor english!

The F equivalent (DOF 35mmFF) for the 150/2.8 is 2.2 more or less, not 1.1, and the F equivalent (DOF 35FF) for the 120/4 is 3.2 more or less.

The Mamiya equivalent lens (new Pentax 645 ultra-wide):

MAMIYA: Mamiya 645DF | Lenses | Sekor AF 28mm f/4.5 D |

Mamiya | Ultra-Wide-Angle 28mm f/4.5 Sek D Aspherical | 210-613

I hope the new Pentax lens will not be so expensive...

The crop factor (or focal length multiplier) 645/645D is 1.27

The "focal length multiplier" 35mm/645D is 0.78 (0.7867) (diagonal) as you can see in the table.

The 1.4 is not bad, but I prefer to use the 300/4 and the 600/5.6 without it (note:I don't use my 645 system since 2003, waiting the 645D for the resurrection of my eight 645 lenses). I have the canon 500/4 L and use the 1.4 Canon 30-40% of the time.
