You dont need to buy new batteries, first check if those in the camera are OK. Aim camera at the sky and press the trigger half way down. Now you can see the diodes light up. If the are twinkling, exchange batteries. If they are steady, keep the batteries.

I bought a set of seals from: Jon Goodman [jon_goodman@yahoo.com]. Jon has a very good description that shows how you can replace all seals in your camera step by step.

I am quite new to this forum, but I have already got a lot of valuable advice from other members. I discovered a few years ago the immense value of user forums when I had a problem with my veteran car. I was really planning to send it to the scrapyard when I in desperation tried to search the web for a solution. Within minutes I had found a web-forum for exactly the old make and version of my car. AFter a week or so I had many new friends who came with valuable advice how to solve my problem. And I did solve my problem and I still have my car.
Then my old radio broke. I looked for a user forum and found one and could repair my radio.
The same with my Pentax cameras. Thanks to this forum I could fix a problem with my ME.
Today I cannot live without User Forums. :p

If it is possible for you to get hold of a book that was published in the eighties named "Pentax ME super Book of Photography" I think you will find answers to most of your questions.
Good luck with the ME super. I like the camera, even if I just have posted a question regarding a small problem with mine.

Hi, I have a problem with my Pentax ME super and I would like your advice. I have noticed that when I set the exposure compensation ( 2X, 4X, X/2, X/4) there shall be an indication in the viewfinder to the left at the top. But in order to get this indication I need to turn the compensation ring to an undefined position in between the fixed stops.
I have not been able to understand if it is just the indication in the viewfinder that is wrong or if the exposure compensation also is wrong.
Has anybody had this or similar problem with a ME super, and can you indicate how this can be corrected. I have been offered an attempt to fix the problem at a cost close to 200 $ and I am of course looking for a less expensive solution.

Just an example. Two weeks ago I bought a ME super house + winder + a 50 mm Pentax lense and a 135 mm Takumar lense and I paid 51 USD. Everything works, but I'll buy a kit from Jon Goodman in Texas to make sure that the camera body doesn't leak light.

Hi, I am an old engineer, now retired, who has had Pentax cameras for many years. My first one was a Spotmatic F, which I bought second hand in the sixties. Later I fell in love with the ME-serie, but it was way too expensive for me then. By chance I found out resently that old analogue cameras are very cheap today if you buy them on the net. So I now have a couple of ME super, with winder, date back lid, flash and some lenses. They take good pictures, but after thirty years or more in use they need some overhaul. I found through this forum some very good service directions, and I am now eager to try to bring my ME super cameras back to perfect operating conditions.
I have checked prices for used old Pentaxes also in other countries like Germany and Italy and found that offered prices there are much higher than in Sweden. If you find anything of interest on sites like Blocket.se - or tradera.se and the seller won't send abroad, I'll be happy if I can be of any help to you. Please contact me through this forum.
Apart from all this, I also fly radio controlled helicopters.

Hi, through this forum I have got a link to an article by Mr John Goodman how to replace worn out light sealings on a ME super. Fine, I'll try. But I need to find a supply for the right sealing material. Does anybody have an address or a link to Mr Goodman or anybody else that sells the right fabric?
Thanks in advance.:)
