I ran across this here and I must say i have a smile from ear to ear right now, i have the kx as-well and had the same problem with focusing with multi-segment or center weighted....THE SAME ISSUE.....and when I choose the "spot" my problems became not a problem...I also want to thank you for that info as it has helped me tremendously with focusing...Your the man :) Cheers and thank you again

Hello everyone :), My name is Kyle and I'm from America, just moved to beautiful Sydney Australia and have been here for about 5 months now. I have just recently purchased a Pentax kx, and I'm thrilled with it, I'm a rookie at shooting but I'm catching on very fast. I happy to join such a fine group and hope to learn more and more everyday. Looking forward to speaking with you all :)

Thank you for your input as i will look into what ring flash would suit me best, if im doing macro would it be best if use av/tv/..ect??? what would you all suggest to me...and thank you again for your help :)

when i use a tri-pod for macro and say im shooting a bug if the shutter speed is low because of aperture is so high in av mode, if i wanted to shoot in shutter priority how do i capture the bug if it's bee or such moving around and the subject not blur and still get the DOF??? my equipment is a Pentax kx with a 50mm sigma f2.8 macro lens....Thank you all for your input :)

Is there anybody out there that knows and is very good with pentax, and I'm lookng for anybody that would be willing to teach me hands on and I have my own gear, I learn very fast and i would love to be able to have hands on and explain to me all the what's and why's ect ect...if so i live in kingsgrove and I'm hoping to find someone to take me under there wing so to speakplease feel free to email or message on here. thanks any advice on what i could do to focus better i use (av) in macro and (tv), i have been taking many many shots trying to see what works best giving the situation, and i still cant yet grasp how to get the pic to pop...get it sharper and clearer

thank you all for you input, as for the pic i apologize...could anybody give me any advice on how to get better shot's with the equipment i have. i also realized the forum strips the images of there true quality, so it will be almost impossible to judge. i want to share pics and be told from the pics what is wrong and what i can do to improve my shots. And what do you mean get a proper macro lens?? as i am using a 50mm sigma f2.8 macro lens....or do you mean get a better lens?. from shots i have seen on flickr with the same gear i use as macro shots, they look outstanding !! Thanks to everyone with the help and advice i will soak it all up :)
