well i have researched this camera alot and have no doubt its the best value for me. i know the color doesnt matter that much but at the same time im going to have this thing for years and i just cant seem to hit the order button because of the color decision. i think ill just look at two next to each other in a picture and decide on one by tomorrow.

Ok so i know very little about cameras but I am about to purchase a pentax K-X and I have a quick question. I am really interested in being able to take portrait shots where i can have a shallow depth of field and blur out everything except the subject. I know the kit lens will probably not let me do that so I saw this sears prime 50mm 1:2 maximum f/2 lens (im not totally sure what all those numbers really mean) and it was going for 12 bucks so I got it assuming that the f/2 aperture would give me the pictures that I want. I dont need these pictures to be flawless but was i correct in assuming this cheap sears lens would allow be to take the kind of photo i described?

Ok so I am getting my first DSLR and without a doubt the one I want is the Pentax K-X. Unfortunately i dont have the option to see one in person and I am terrible about making decisions about something like the color. Any thoughts? Do you all think the white version looks a bit "toyish" in person. I know some people have speculated about the white one getting dirty easier but i wonder if any of you that have this camera have encountered this problem. As soon as I can decide this I am going to order it and I am pretty freaking excited being that ive never had a camera that allows me to do so much manual adjustments, much less HD video!
